I took my dog for a walk tonight, a beautiful fall evening and stopped to smell my roses. I can't believe how hearty they are still this time of year and the aroma is wonderful! I cut one of my red roses to bring inside for me to enjoy. I cut my roses back already and yet they bloom onward. LOL!!!
That's interesting you should say this about your roses........because I was just thinking the exact same thing last night--- I don't have a rose garden.....but I have a gorgeous yellow rose bush...that my sister in law gave me some time ago.....and I just love...right now it is the prettiest it has been all summer/fall.....it has bloomed four times now! Right in the midst of all these trees turning colors....is a brilliant yellow rose bush!
I'm sure Barney enjoyed his walk with Mama ;-) and great idea to stop and smell the roses ;-) how can you resist when they are that beautiful and enticing.......that is one of the main reason I got Buck....because Lobo is no longer able to handle the long walks...and neither is Harley....and I wanted a strong atheletic dog to be my buddy/walking companion. I am not a person who can exercise with a tape or tv or in my living room (I've tried it--and eventually gave away a treadmill I paid $700 for).....it absolutely bores me to tears. I have to incorporate my exercise activities into my life.....like daily long vigorous walks outside with my dog, and hiking in the mountain with the boys (and dog.) Yesterday we did frisbees for a couple hours and I am convinced this dog is incapable of being tired.....lol..) He turned out to have enough energy for both of us....lol.
