I think that is how they do it Angelbear....wait until the bloom changes to fruit and then put in into a container.  I want to see your ScoobyDoo melon when it happens.

I have heard of putting fruit, like a pear, in a glass bottle and letting it grow but not to take on the shape of the bottle.
