Here is a wonderful garden to plant in your yard. I saw this and thought what a wonderful idea. So I'm going to share it with you all. The idea of a fairy garden is to get the little people to come and live in your garden and protect it from harm. Here are the plants and flowers for it. You don't need to plant all of them just some of them will do.
PLANTS AND FLOWRERS FOR A FAIRY GARDEN
Trees & Shrubs
Apple--love spells     Ash--sacred     Butterfly Bush--attraction
Elder--protection     Hawthorn--transformation     Mistletoe--affection
Oak--safe haven     Rose--blessings     Willow--communication
Wormwood--protection

Herbs, floweres & plants
Anemone--Shelter in the rain     Blue bells--attracts fairys to dance
Ferns--protection of spirits     Foxglove--talisman     Heather--passion
Lilac--Attracts spritits     Mallow--Fairy cheese     Peony--protection
Poppies--to invoke dreams     thyme--invitations
Toadstools--fairy tables     Tulips--fairy cradles

Other flowers for fairies
Asters     Cabbage     Coreopsis     Cosmos     Cowslips     Lavendar
Hyssop     Petunia     Pincusion     Shasta daisy     Verbena
Violets     Zinnias

Idems needed by fairies
Arbors     Bird Baths     Bird houses     Empty flower pots
Lawn ornamentals     Lawn furniture     Statuary     Trellises

These plants are associated with mythical creatures in literture
Zinnia--Thumbellina       Zinnia--Peter Pan
Grass--Bunny Tails       Bells of Ireland--Hats for fairies
Cupids Dart       Thyme--where faries live
Blue bells       Baby's Breath

I hope this will inspire some of you to plant a small Fairy Garden in your yard or even in a pot. It can be done. I know I'm going to try it.

Dilly it sounds so pretty, I may just pot some heaven knows I have alot of pots hagging around, that way I could put some in every yard (front, back and sides).
I just bought a mini bench about 4 in. tall didn't know why I bought it till I read your post, now I just need the fairys to come and sit on it.

Thanks for shareing

I just read this from idea from Dilly. This cool! Wanda did you do this? Did anyone else do this? I am a notorious brown thumb!  Poor Gena! Still this sort of strikes my fanciful side. Wonder how you could do it on a small scale.  Dilly isn't still here is she? Darn. Any ideas....I think my little tinkerbell would go nicely in this...Gena

I have so many of the plants and items in my yard already, so I wonder if the fairies are already out there. Thanks for sharing this.
