Well end of summer and time to store your flower pots away. Here are some easy tips to do before putting them away for winter.
1. Take and empty all your pots and put all used potting soil and tired out plants in the compost bin.
2. Before putting them away wash your pots in a solution of hot water, bleach and soap. Scrub the pots with wire brush to get the soil and other things out of the pot. Rinse well in clean water let stand to dry and then store away for winter.
3. Don't store clay pots outside and they will freeze and crack. Plastic pots can be stored out doors. Clay and ceramic pots should go in a shed, garage or basement.
If you do this now you won't have to do it in the spring when all you really want to do then is to plant your flowers. Happy fall to all of you gardeners out there. There is still alot to do to get ready for winter. Remember:
