Great news at long last with my eldest son. I was with him last week, in Christchurch NZ and we managed to clear a lot of issues up. His girlfriend is still awaiting clearance from immigration, so hopefully she will be able to join him before Christmas. Sadly he can't afford to come here then, but will make an all out effort for Jan. My special day. He's finished the theory part of his aviation course and today goes up with a tutor in a 4 seater aircraft. Now that he's had a decent amount of stressfree sleep, he can now feel excited. I continued down further to a cousin's place and helped her celebrate her 70th. Wow what a music fest that was. Such a wonderful family and all talented. I also met a lot of Judith's family whom previously I'd only known by name. Great to feel the warmth of the extended family. For all of my Diva sisters who commiserated with me earlier in the year, and the prayers offered for Matt, I thank you all. |

Helen ... Great news indeed -- our children will never stop needing advice from their mama's. Hoping all goes well with immigration (have you met her yet) and maybe they'll both be able to spend your special day with you. How was his flight? Glad you got to spend time with your cousin/best friend -- explain more about music fest -- singing, instrutments or combination. My oldest Kim invited me to dinner tonight, but I was in the middle of laundry day and ask for raincheck. Haven't met her new cyber-boyfriend yet -- but have gotten good vibes from talking to him on phone -- he's soft spoken and yes maam's me with each question I ask. Karen |

karen the music fest I mentioned at my cousins birthday celebrations were her family are all very talented. There are 7 surviving kids ranging from 47 down to 32. The youngest Lachie has the most melodious voice, and he sang a couple of ballad type songs accompanying himself on the guitar. 2 of the sisters sang in harmony with Judith on the piano. She is in a swing band of 2 lady piano accordian players, 3 men saxaphone, and 2 men with drums. Judith usually plays the piano, but she was the guest but by golly she surprised everyone by belting out a couple of numbers on a saxaphone. She'd just learned it before her birthday! Wow what a wonderful night. Min I didn't get to see Matt fly as he's still in Christchurch. Had a txt from him saying he was exhausted yesterday, and hopes to call tonight with an update on where he flew etc. Yes he is hoping the lass comes before Christmas, but sadly he won't be able to afford to join us here. |

Kiwi ... What fun that must of been, to see her pick up sax and blow a tune must of blown your mind ... My X's family all did something musically as well -- I have to admit I miss sharing the parties and holidays with X-laws ... The holidays now with all the extended families have to make special days for each -- takes some of the fun out of it ... Karen |
