Well ty for this, im going to check it out.  Aging hasnt bothered me too much at all, in fact i think i look better and define. know more than when i was younger.  But menopause has hit me, and i hate it truely.  Forget hot flashes not there yet, but sex drive pretty much gone, my husband not happy w. that at all.  Sorry, when you been married for 23 yrs. to the same man you cant fake desire.  And my mood swings, omg, my whole life is in jeopardy with this.  Im wondering who this other person is, once a month so far.  Lol, the woman in my doctors office says, "oh this is all natural just a part of life."  Yeah and ill bet her husband is cheating on her w. that attitude.  I have an appt. w. a specialist in Feb., and yes i want drugs, for my mood and my sex drive, i refuse to accept this as natural.  Please dont tell me to diet, ive never had to do that in my life, and i dont have to now, I am within my weight for my height.

I never had a problem with my sex drive...but I was born horny and will probably die that way.  My menopause was surgically induced (hysterectomy) maybe that had something to do with it.  I refused hormonal replacement therapy because the insurance plan I have only allows for Premarin and I refuse to allow an animal to suffer just so I can be "comfortable".  It's been 14 years since my "histie" and I couldn't have gotten a better present for my 40th birthday!

Belladona- I don't blame you. Have your Dr. give the meds you need to get through this. I had a hysterectomy in 1987 and went on hormone pills right away. I stayed on them for 15 years then the Dr. decided I didn't need them and he was right. I have never experienced any menopause effects. Read through the discussions on the link in post #1 for some good information as well as listening to your Dr.

Thank you all for the advice and laughs, booze and cigs.  I did read alot of the messages on the menopause link.  Some of it helpful, some of it downright scary, lol.  Im not depressed at least not yet.  But if i were to give up my wine, coffee, chocolate omg, now that would define. depress me.  I also smoke.  Cuttin down yes.  Now if it were possible to cut all this stuff out and be looking like i was skin wise at say 35 or even 40 and guarantee that i would live to be very old then hell yeah.  Being happy is the most important thing to me.  If the Dr. cant do anything for this then i will just do the best i can.

Ah, Menopause.  Been there, done that. I still have hot flashes but what the hell.  Jackie's method of running outside in the cold works quite well.  I also sleep with a fan.  When do hot flashes go away?

Thanks for the link, Wanda.  I have hot flashes.  Rarely wear a coat.  If I do, it's usually below 32 degrees and the wind is blowing hard!  My antidepressants also cause sweating so I never know what is hormone related or med related.

Belladona, I went on estridial and was very depressed, suicideal, many other things.  My dr suggested what they call a Natural Hormone Replacement that he has to still perscribe but it is in a compounding pharmancy.  They mix the medication for each person, specialized in what you need.  I have been so greatful, so much better, and the sex drive is back, only one hot flash during the night, no mood swings.  You can find these compunding pharmacies I think everywhere.  This is a number for mine
1-877-733-3779, didnt need any tests just asked questions.  You do have to find a dr that will perscribe it though.  Tell me if it works out.

Belladona -  I've got the same problem re the lack of sex drive.  I've been on HRT for at least 6-8 years and had not had any issues until about 3 years ago.  Sex drive is nonexistent. My dh is not happy, of course and he even suggested that I at least fake it.  No can do, I'm absolutely not interested.  I asked my gynie about this and he said it happens to the majority of women.  The only suggestion he had was get a bottle of wine and some videos!  (I'm dead serious).
Cass- May I ask the name of the company you get your natural remedy from?  Do they have a website so I can research on the web?

www.reedsrx.com is their website.  My pills have testostrom, progestrone, estrogen because I dont have anything female left (cause was endometriosis).  So I cant make anything for my body.  But it has helped in our sex life which I think he really needed more than me, although I enjoy it more than I ever did during our first 25 years.
