Don't know if any of you have problems with achy joints, but I have bouts with them, having been idagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis.  Rather than take the meds my doctor prescribes, I've opted to try other routes.  About 3 weeks ago I bought some Glucosamine Chondroitin with joint lubricant.  I've been taking 2 per day, as directed and let me tell you, it works!  Knock on wood, I've had no episodes at all and have even noticed that I'm not the least bit stiff in the mornings.  Thought I'd pass this along to others who might be interested.

You're right, it is good.  I've taken it in the past and it definitely works.  It does take a few weeks to get into your system but then the achiness went away.  You definitely will notice if you stop taking it.
I now have to take Voltaren for a degenerated disc in my lower back.   It also works on the achiness all over.  The disc in my back is completely gone and it's bone against bone.  Nothing works for that but the med so I have to take it!  Glad you found something that takes the stiffness away

Thanks Charlee!
I think my Dr.'s getting frustrated with me,so he's sending me off to a specialist. My right knee is giving me FITS! It's hard to get on & off the toilet or climb steps. My xrays didn't show anything out of the ordinary so what's going on?
(sigh!)But this is my next move if nothing is found out.

That is good news, Barb.
I see patients with lists of 15 or more meds and cannot believe that can be beneficial.

Wanda, I bought mine at WalMart.  Must have spent 30 minutes reading all the choices they offer!  The one I got is Spring Valley brand, 90 tabs and it's called Glucosamine Chondroitin plus Joint Lubricant.   This particiular one tells you to take only 2 per day.  All the others were 3 or more per day.  You're supposed to take it with a glass of water after you've eaten.  I just add it to my morning routine of vitamins.

CC -  Sorry to hear your knee is going out on you!  Is your doctor thinking you might need surgery?  Hope it turns out OK!

Hi Mindguest and welcome to the group!  I don't know of any side effects this supplement could have.  Guess the best thing is to read the bottle, however, I don't know anyone who has had a bad or even unpleasant experience from it.  I read newsletters from the Arthritis Foundation and their suggestion is to try it and if you don't see any results after 40 days, then it won't work for you.  The bottle I purchased has 90 pills in it, which is a 45 day investment.  My attitude was if I didn't see any improvement, I simply would not buy it again.

Hey CC -  One last suggestion:  have you ever considered accupuncture?  We had a speaker come to school last spring and he asked for a teacher to volunteer so he could do a demonstration.  I had been having a lot of pain in my elbow and figured I'd give it a try.  Man, did it work!  I'm serious!  The pain was totally gone and I've not had any relapses.  I sent my MIL to see him because she has a bad knee and she actually walked out of his office without limping!

CC -  Please DO consider giving it a try.  Our local chiropracter is certified for accupuncture and he's really inexpensive...only $25 for a treatment!  (We're in a small town, so I'm sure you'd pay more in a larger city)

A lady that works at WalMart was raving about that very product one day when we were comparing notes on OTC supplements and meds.  Thanks for the info.
