I did some checking on my meds today for the 30 and 90 day supply. Surprisingly Wal Mart beat the COSTCO prices by dollars.  Even with insurance, which I have, I have found it can make a difference regardless of copays when you are getting Generic drugs.

Do you ever do comparison shopping with your medications?

I comparison shop for everything.
I refuse to throw money away.
If I get the same quality at a lower price I buy it.
IMHO generic is equal to Brand name.
The same is true for some.. but not all food items.

All of my medications come through the VA medical system because I am a disabled veteran.  Some of my medicines are free and some cost me $7.50  I can live with that.

When my son was young and my insurance did not cover his medications for his asthma, you're darn tootin' that I did comparison shopping.  When we were living in Alamogordo, NM, I even went to Juarez to buy his medications.  The inhalers were the same as this side of the border but so much cheaper.  I could buy a three month supply of his 3 inhalers for what it would cost me to buy a one month supply for them in the USA.

I could also buy a blister pack of 100 prednisone pills for $1.00 in Mexico.  The only difference in the prednisone that the doctor could see was the filler used in making them.  He thought that it might take a little longer for the prednisone to work effectively.

I do comparison shopping for everything too,EXCEPT for my pharmacy. The Piggly Wiggly has one that I'll NEVER leave until the Pharmacist there retires. He takes time to explain certain things, even recommend things. He's friendly,he knows our budget,he even asks about us when one of us is sick.I LUV small towns!
BTW,my copayment is .50 for each perscription(as long as mediaid covers it).
