Posting the email to me from Sweetcheeks

Hello and thanks for the email.....Surgery went well I guess....when the dr. did the biopsy in June to remove the tumor, she did get it all, but she still did the lumpectomy to make sure she got all the cancer cells.....As for the lymph nodes, the cancer did go there, so they had to take out the 1st node and a group of them.  That is the incision that hurts the worst, thank goodness for pain pills!!!  I go to the radiation dr. on Tuesday, and the oncologist on Wednesday to see what is next.  I know for sure I will have radiation.  As for the chemo., that is what my dr. will probably tell me on Wednesday.  My surgeon says that usually as a precaution, when cancer is found in the lymph nodes they do give you chemo., but like I said, I will hopefully know for sure next week about the chemo.  I can't drive or work until my follow up visit with my surgeon on 7/21.  So here I am at home.  My cousins left Thursday and my brother and wife come in Saturday, so I will have someone to drive me to my appts.  I rest alot, I get tired easily, probably from not doing anything!!  My mom takes good care of me too (as does Mike when he comes from work).  My mom loves to dote over me, lol....I am blessed to have so many that want to help out.  Its really wierd, I sometimes think, is this really happening to me...but I come to realty and say 'yes' it has...Please take care and tell all the Divas I am doing okay and will keep you posted, I so much appreciate your emails....bye for now.

 Lucy

I'm glad they got all the cancer cells out of the breast. Now to make sure they got it all out of the lymph node. Let us know how things go and if you have chemo. I would think as a precaution they would do chemo but who knows.

Dearest Lucy,

Chin up and hang in there.  You and I are both battling cancer but in different directions.  I am doing the chemotherapy first, and then will either do the surgery and then radiation, or radiation and then surgery.

I am here for you during your travel to wellness.  If you have any questions, you are more than welcome to get my email address from Angelbear.

Dear Sweetcheeks;  I am praying for you.  If you think about it, check these websites out before you visit your radiation & chemotherapy doctors.  They are both very legitimate websites.  www.whyme.com and www.americancancersociety.com   They will give you insight on the type of questions you need to ask for your treatments.  I am "LIVING WITH" Stage IV, inflammatory, metatastic breast cancer and have been through all the above you are going through.  If you have questions and don't know where to turn, please feel free to contact me.  Your whole life has changed and you view things differently than you did before.  Keep your faith and most of all your sense of humor.  Stay positive.  When the chemo and the radiation get you down, call on me and I'll do something to make you laugh.  I promise.  I'm good at that.  You are very fortunate to have a loving family to support you.  Mine chose to ignore my diagnosis and have distanced themselves from me.  We lost my brother last year to breast cancer that metasticized to his lungs and bones and my daughters were heartbroken, so I think they distance themselves thinking that it won't hurt as bad when the time comes.  Only, I don't plan on letting that come anytime soon.  I plan to watch my grandson grow up.  So what, If my new normalcy of life is oral chemo here and an infussion time there, it's my new way of life and I adapt.  You are truly blessed, even during this time of crisis in your life.  Lucy, you didn't say what stage of the cancer is.  Do you know yet?  Is it HR/ER receptive?  Please try to go to one of the websites I mentioned and get familiar with the type of cancer you have so you can be fully informed and help your doctors make decisions in your best interest.  Sending, HUGS and PRAYERS.    Doe
