REPOSTED FROM EMAIL FOR LUCY Hi and so nice to hear from you and the Divas too!! It made my day today. (I sent an email earlier today) Doe0807 asked what stage, it's stage 2 and not sure what HR/ER receptive is, but the dr. said something about estrogen?? So not sure about that. So hard to take it all in, in one visit, but I did ask alot of questions. And, so sorry to hear about you and also your brother too, my prayers are with you and your family. Adair, I didn't realize you were going thru this too! I sure hope your chemo does the trick and you don't have to have any other treatments or surgery!!! and I will and do keep my chin up and try to keep a positive attitude, I make light of it and laugh, but some days aren't so laughable, but most are for right now!! My days are so very tiring I find, I am sure it will be worse with Chemo, so we shall see about that. Also my prayers are with you as well.... I thank each and every one of you's for your kind words, thoughts and prayers, you are all so very special...... Lucy |

Stage II, that is a positive. I meant to ask ER/PR. That is Estrogen Receptive/Progesterone Receptive. You are very fortunate that you found it at Stage II and you have a very wise doctor to get you started on Chemo then radiation. Yes, I agree that keeping a sense of humor is difficult, but if you can find a way to laugh, the Whole world laughs with you, if you cry, you cry alone. But not really, God cries with you. Just talk to Him at those very low moments. He is listening and He will send Angels to help pick you back up to fight the battle. WE ARE SURVIVORS! Don't forget it. From the very moment we were diagnosed we became survivors. Unfortunately, I am on Lifetime Chemo. Currently Oral Chemo and then we will see what my oncologist has to say on my checkup come this Tuesday. He'll tell me if the tumor on my lower back is shrinking or not. If it is not, I will most likely have to have the port put back in and receive infussion chemo. It's my new way of life! I deal with every curve ball that comes my way and think to myself, "My best friend has it a lot worse than me. I can at least go places when I want and I still eat & drink on my own." God always shows us the other side of the fence, just as long as we are willing to look at it and not allow ourselves to be tempted by the Devil to wallow in self-pity. That's why I have a "warped" sense of humor. And I live each day the best way I can and try to be a good example. Don't get me wrong, I have days that I am cranky and tired, but somehow God will make me realize it when I am in my room having a pity-party for Dorothy and then the next thing I know, He reminds me of something that was a blessing that day. One, I was able to join in my own pity party, LOL. Then I start thinking about the day and pick 3 positives and then the list grows. That's just the way I have to deal with it. In Christ I can do anything, because He strengthens me. Hugs and well wishes w/an abundance of prayer! Doe |

Lucy, I was diagnosed (in June) with adenocarcinoma in the lower lobe of my right lung. I have done one session of chemotherapy and will have a second session on August 1st. Then I will have another PET scan on August 18th to see about shrinkage. There were two discrete anomalies on the original PET and the oncologist wanted to start with the chemo first as a just in case. One anomaly is in the left armpit area and the other is in my neck. If the 2 anomalies show up in the second PET then we know that they are not cancer that has metastised (at least according the the clinical nurse). adair |
