Anyone ever have one done? They're coming into our area soon and I'm thinking about signing up for what they call a Wellness Package. They screen for Strokes, Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm, Peripheral Arterial Disease and Osteoporosis. The charge is only $125.00 which I think sounds pretty reasonable. Any feedback, anyone?
I have heard of the screening and they have come to my area many times. I have had all these done through my Dr. a few years ago. Its a great price for all these tests. With insurance it will costs in the range of about $900.
We do about 20 of these at our hospital every day. We only charge $50.00 as we are a wellness based hospital and want everyone to be able to afford it. The tests we give-if billed out individually would be over $2000.00! Have it done...it is a great preventative! TRose
OK...so now I'm kinda pissed off. I scheduled an appointment for 1:00 and the woman on the phone says this is "tentative" and they'll confirm via my email. I never got an email, but I did get a phone call the day before I was supposed to have this done. The person on the phone says I'm set for 11:30. I told her I had to work and that my original appt was 1:00. She said the last test they were scheduling was 11:30, because they didn't have enough bookings to stick around until 1:00. So, now I have to wait until they come thru this area again which won't be until mid-November. I asked her what happens if they don't book enough to fill the day again (I made mine for 3:30) she said that I would have to wait till they come around again. What a bunch of do-do!!!!
That sure is a load of crap!!! I would really be mad to. They do this for their convienence?! I wonder who heads the screenings up and if they know about it and how many people are missing out. I would make a phone call and check it out.
