Hi to all...
I am rewriting my intro 3 years after joining Divas, and finding it hard to condense 7 decades of living into  a few lines.

Thumbnail sketch:
Born in NY
Transplanted to California age 4

Left Ca briefly,  during a 6 year marriage that produced 4 children...  It was the 50's Ladies...
Women wanted 6 children,  a white picket fence and a hubby to greet at the door, apron on and spoon in hand.
So much for the 50's.

The 60's I was raising  the children alone after Mr. Wonderful disappeared.  Worked as a  telephone operator and waitress among other things and  started taking College classes one at a time... after first getting my High School Diploma at Adult school.
Finished an RN program in 1973 . I had finished an LVN program  5 years prior to this and  have continued to work  at the same Hospital.

The  80's, 90's...  Where DID they go? Kids left the nest , grand children came along   I have 8.

2008  and I am still at the same Hospital, working part time as an admissions nurse. I had put in my time as a floor nurse.
Admissions is low key. One patient at a time instead of a team.  I love it and have no intention  of retiring, unless my legs or some other body part gives out.

I learned the Computer about 8 years ago when the Hospital switched from hand charting.
I have been addicted to it, since. This and TV are my primary sources of entertainment.
I like eating out with friends and family.
I have traveled a bit.   I Love keeping involved with grandchildren's doings, all grown except for an 8 year old late comer.

I am proud and happy  to be a Diva and I love  my on line friends.

My friend and me.  What can I say.. good men are hard to find .

I remember the 50s...I was born in 53.  My mom was a telephone operator before I came along, she worked in Trukee CA.  She left the phone company when I came along and never went back (yeah it was the 50s, mom's RARELY worked)  Anyway it's nice to be amongst people who remember "the good old days" and how they sometimes weren't so good.
