I'm originally from NYC and lived there for 40 yrs. I went to high school in Manhatten and always loved the hustle and bustle of a big city. I'm retired from my career and live in Palm Beach county, Florida since 1994. Art is my passion and has always been so. I work in oil on canvas. I show my work all over south Florida. I'm.... I guess you would call me a newly wed (5yrs).If you want to know more about me, just ask Sheila |

Hi Shelia! Welcome to the group. It's a great group of diverse women and talents. I used to live in PBGardens....Plat 3(?)....up off PGA Blvd. I left there in the mid 80's...and when I go back I cannot believe the growth that just continues and continues. What part of PBcounty are you in? My best friend down there lived in North Palm Beach...and I had another friend on Singer Island. Love that part of the Florida! TRose |

I'm in Latana just outside city limits. The changes that have been going on down here is unbelievable. When I moved here in 99 I was surrounded by Orange Groves. They sold the land and...you guessed it...they built communities. With a big heart they have, they named the communities after the groves they bought out. It's becomming like a mini NYC. Where are you now? |

Shelia--OHhhh...I used to spend a lot of time in Venice. It just kind of runs into Sarasota. I LOVE Venice.(& Sarasota for that matter). We have a time share that is connected to Sarasota & the Cocoa Beach area but haven't used it there yet. I should say...I did love Venice ....because it's been several years since I was there. When I met my hubby we were living in Ft.Myers....(when it was basically a cow town)...and before I met him a guy I was dating and I used to drive up to Venice every Sunday morning for breakfast at the Blue Moon Cafe! They made the best waffles I have ever had!....Don't miss the guy but I think about those waffles every once in a while . As to where I live now...we are right on the Bay of Green Bay. It is cold...cold...cold....Snow and I do not like each other...AT ALL! Although I do like to see my gdkds playing in the snow and sliding around! But I am still a warm weather girl (ok-woman ) at heart! We have about 3-4 months of warm weather and our summers would give Florida a run for it's money with humidity. If you look at a map of WI we are on the part where the "thumb" joins the mitten (WI looks like a mitten)...so we are surrounded by water. That means humidity in the summer and extra snow in the Winter. How lucky can we get? LOL TRose |

TRose The reason we go to the Keys is, it's so nice and quiet. We were hoping Venice was the same way. I do have my doubts but going to check into it and see if anything appeals to us. Betcha lol........ we end up back to the Keys. We go to the Islamorada area not Key West. Being down here since 94 I'm use to the heat. Anything below 70 degrees I feel it and don't like it. Geeez, I don't even own a heavy coat. |
