I am planning a tentative trip up to Oregon to visit my son. I always take the furbabies with me....all 3 dogs. This would be the first trip for the youngest one. We camp out on the Rogue River for 3-4 days and they have a blast. My son has a black lab named Bo and they enjoy each others company. Bo shows my little cocker spaniels the ins and outs of camping life. He is there all the time while my son guides for fly fishing. |

Blue, I'd love to see some pics of your furkids. I used to have three cockers. They passed years ago. Tasha, Teela, and Dark Brown(weird name I know). I now have Tori a little Shih Tzu and Maggie the little Maltese. Karen |

I'll try to post some. The white/tan one is Valentine and she had a litter of pups 4 years ago. I mated one of her sons with my other little girl, chocolate sable named Tootsie. They had two litters and I kept one of the boys out of the last litter, Moochie, tri-color chocolate/white/tan. So they are 3 generations! |

I don't take my Barney on trips other than back and forth to Chicago to Missouri. Sometimes he rides with us for short trips like a fast food place or something. He loves that. I love it when some of the places see your dog and have a dog treat for them. |

I love the puppy pics. Travel problems is what keeps me from having fur babies. My son and dil spend a fortune kenneling their dogs when away. |

In Oregon, the gas station attendants (yes they pump your gas for you!) always have dog treats and dogs are allowed in most hotels and restaurants accomadate them. I don't do vacations where I can't take my dogs. They are lost when I go to work each day! They wait at the chain link gate to see my car pull up. They even go to work with me at least once a month. The residents just love them. Karen, I'm sure your new little furbabies keep you as entertained as mine do me. I fell in love with cocker spaniels when I was little and still love the breed. |

We occasionally take day trips....but rarely go anywhere longer than that. As far as vacations.....we enjoy spending our leisure time right here at home..on the mountain and floating around the pool with a cold one....and the dogs are right there with us. We're not much for travel......we've never found congested highways and crowded places and sleeping in strange rooms relaxing..I guess we're just not well suited to travel......we always came home more tired and stressed than when we left.....so that's why we ended up putting in the pool...and making our own vacation spot. We have a little cabin up in the woods with a creek that runs in front of it and we take the dogs there often...they love it. My dogs are members of our family....and Iwe take them with use everywhere we can....and leave them only when we have to. I love working so close to home....I drive home on my lunch hour (the whole mile...lol)...and take the dogs out and check on everything at home. Robyn your babies are gorgeous! |

Penny, Sounds nice...but I still like to travel to...I love meeting new people and seeing new places. It is "ruff" if I can't take the girls but my skin kids are adults now and they jump at the chance to have them. My grandson Sam loves my furkids too! Guess I am lucky that way...win win situation for all. But Penny your place sounds amazing...glad you are happy... Karen |

Karen, Actually most people would probably find us pretty boring. We live pretty simple....but we like it that way. But I'm with you all the way.......where we go.....and what we do......our dogs come too! |

Hiya Karen Thanks for the Volusia Site. Hubby & I live in SW Florida and we're always looking for week-end trips close by. We've have kitties but have been thinking about what kind of dogs would suit us best. Your Cockers look so sweet I think i'll check out the breed for myself. Celeste |

Shortcake, I always suggest doing your reseach before choosing a breed. Some dogs have more energy and are higher matenience than others. We are older and decided to stick with small dogs...small clean-up and not as far to walk when taking them out. LOL but thats the truth. Karen |
