I went for a walk today and came upon the most beautiful scenery under a tree. It was a mama cat having babies!  The owners were sitting there. They said they kept trying to keep their cat inside but the cat had other plans and liked this tree in their yard. They had brought out blankets to put under the mama and a box. The Mama did fine and kept popping the babies out with no problem. She had 10 kittens!!! It was the most beautiful site. I wish I had a camera with me but I didn't. For now on I take a camera with me, you never know what you will come upon.

Isn't that one of the greatest experiences to see?  nature taking over.  No camera in your cell phone?  that's one thing I do love about the cell phones, cameras and videos at the push of a button!

I watched  my cat have kittens many years ago and will never forget it. I should take my camera with me too, but with all the junk I have to carry around, I would need a truck instead of a handbag.

That IS a wonderful thing to witness.I witnessed the same thing with Spooks a few years back. She woke me up crying with her belly contracting. When I took her to her bed,she jumped out & curled up in the closet nearby. She gave birth to 6 kittens.I had to cut the placenta off of the runt of the litter. But it was a WONDERFUL thing to see.I feel privileged.

Wow - 10 kittens!  That is a rather large litter.

At times I wish that my feral cat's full litter would have made it but then I am thankful that only Beavis and Butthead made it into this world also.  I was never able to find homes for them so Butthead is now an outside kitty along with his mother and Beavis is ruling the roost here in the house.

I walked over last evening to see the kittens. Their cat did have 10 kittens. Three have died since I was there. I had my digital with me but she didn't want me to take any pictures. They're worried over the litter right now. I never had a cat have kittens, our Whiskers was fixed. I also had never seen a litter born, amazing. I know she has been to the vet with her cat and kittens because Mama was torn during the deliveries. I may go back over the weekend. The owner doesn't seem to mind me coming over.
