I love to talk about my pets. They are very important to me. We have 4 dogs: Sassy is 13 yo, lab/chow mix and lives outside. She does her own thing and basically ignores any commands we give her. Spotlight is a papillion who is 10. She was used as a breeder in a kennel until she was too old to breed anymore. They gave her to us when we picked up our 3 yo yorkie, Gizmo. He has a bad leg, and the breeder, who is a friend of my husband, gave him to us for free. Spotlight is very shy and prissy. She is attached to me, laying at my feet while I type this. Gizmo is wild. We had a yorkie who was such a great dog, Max. I thought we would get another yorkie like Max, but we got the opposite. But he's cute and we adore him and all his quirky ways. Tucker is the last addition, adopted from a shelter about a year ago. He is a 2 yo lab/? mix. We volunteered to help the Humane Society at a festival and they had dogs from the shelter there for adoption. My daughter had Tucker and fell in love with him, especially when she told him to sit and he sat up and begged. He was so calm and quiet at the festival, but he must have been very depressed, because he is anything but that now. He minds very well which is more than I can say for Sassy. Yoda, our cat, is about 11 years old, and a bit psychotic. He is part calico and part Siamese, but you would never know it by looking at him. He looks full-blooded Siamese and acts it, too. He is mean, especially to my youngest daughter who actually picked him out. He used to lay in wait for her when she was small, then jump out and bite her (not hard) in the legs, then run away. Even today (my daughter is now 14) if she tries to pet him, he bites at her. Our cockatiel is one we hatched from an egg. He's about 3 yo now, gray with yellow head. He says good morning when he's in the mood, imitates the phone and my middle daughter laughing. |

You tell an amusing and loving story of your animals. I think you will find most members have pets they love and will be happy to share stories with you. My cat died at age 17 and I never replaced her. My children have enough assorted pets in their collective homes to satisfy any furry or feathered need I have. |

I love to hear about others animals.... I have 2 parrots. one blue front and one yellow nape.... when they get talking together it is really funny.... I also have 4 cats... my oldest I have 14 years, 10 lbs..he was a stray that showed up at our door step. 2 years ago I got 2 from the shelter. 1 is a pure Bengal, about 10 yrs old, 19 lbs...the other is half Bengal, he is about 3 years old, 15 lbs...... and my last one I think belonged to one of my neighbors... they weren't feeding him durning the winter. I called them and they never called me back... he showed up at our door step in February... he melted my dh heart and so now he is our cat... he is about 16 months old, 15 lbs. and he is a riot...hr gets into everything.... my dd goes to the beach about every other weekend so sometimes I get her cats... she has 1 male and 1 female.... the female keeps all the male cats in line.... if they approach her or evern dare to walk by her she hisses or swats at them.... she is the smallest cat but keeps all the males in line..... a woman after my own heart...lol |

Loved reading about your menagerie. I am a huge animal lover myself (partial to felines). Would love to see pics of them all. |

Nuts4styx ... I loved reading about your animals. The joy and laughter they bring is worth any small mess they might make. I adopted a 2 yr.old Shizpoo about 3 yrs. ago, he was named Skeeter and is a charcoal gray. The humane society said the previous owners brought him in because he pottied in the house -- he does indeed -- only does it when I leave him alone. My partner has his own dog too, he's part rat terrier and beagle, named Tally -- he has the most expressive brown eyes. Skeeter is a yapper and Tally is a howler, its quite a sound when they go off together. Are we allowed to show pictures of our pets here in the Divas? I'd loved to show and see, if Angelbear says its OK ... |

The love for your animals shines through your post. I had a cat and a toy poodle. They both died last year five months apart. I am not ready to get another poodle yet. When I do we decided to buy a male and female this time. I miss not having a pet at this time but i truly am not ready for several reasons. When you can please put some pictures on for us. you will find that a lot of us have the love for animals. Angelbear |

I will post photos as soon as I find them back. One day I started putting them all in folders and titled one 'pets' with all the animal photos. Now I can't find where I saved it. I think I accidently saved it under another folder, but I can't find which one. We lost our yorkie, Max, 3 years ago this December. I still get tears when talking about him. He was just extra special to me. I love the 4 we have now, but Max was the best. |

I could never go to an animal shelter. I would bring home too many. Being down to 2 cats is enough. I had my cockatiel for 13 yrs. I thought about getting another one. She was my bird from the beginning, didn't like the kids. It's nice to sit & have them near you. You're not alone. |

I love my little Sparky. I can only imagine how it feels to have several animals around. My dog is an English Springer Spaniel. He is so special to me and my husband. I want another pet but my husbans says no. Enjoy your pets. They bring so much comfort in this crazy world. |
