My voice is vey mismatched to my demeanor. I sound like minnie mouse on the phone. One doctor told me I sounded like a 900# chatter. |

I do not have any accents that I am aware of. I have heard my voice on recordings but it doesn't seem like me. LOL! I have a soft low tone speech. |

I have the New York accent. When I go to N.C. they know I'm not a local. I have trouble saying car. I went to Mass every summer to visit my dm. |

I've got a good mixture. Born in New Zealand, lived in the UK for nearly 10 yrs cos I'm married to a Brit, now live in OZ.
My Kiwi family/friends think I sound like an Aussie, the Aussies think I'm a Pom/Brit, so there you go. |

Because I conduct almost all of my business by phone, it's imporant that I don't have an accent and thank goodness I don't. I really dislike my voice though, even though I've always gotten compliments on it. To me, I sound tinny and nasal . |

Cc could have been posting for me! I definitely have a Southern accent and it's more Southern than the region I live in. I blame that on the fact that I was born in Memphis, Tenn. while my father was in college there. We stayed there about 2 years---just long enough for me to learn to talk. When we moved back to NC, we moved 50 miles from here (up in the country) where most of my relatives live. Between Memphis and Rose Hill, I got a great big dose of Southern twang. I hate my accent and when I hear someone speak that doesn't have ANY detectable accent, it makes me very self concious of mine. |
