Do you keep your doors locked when you're at home?
Why or why not?

It's weird but during winter and if I'm alone then I lock my doors, probably because it's dark and the computer I use is at the back of the house. Summer is different as it's so bright and we tend to go out more together.

The only time we ever locked our doors was when we were going to be gone for vacation. Otherwise, never. Two reasons:

1.  We don't get burglaries as a rule, around here, so why bother....

2.  DH can't open the door. If I'm not home and someone comes to visit, he can just say 'come in'...

I have a lock on my front door that I programed so my kids can get in,  I now lock my doors all the time because everyone I want in knows the code.  I don't lock the screen door when its open.

We have to keep our doors locked because our front door is actually the store on our resort. If it isn't locked people walk in all year long even if they know logically we would be closed. If we happen to be sitting in the store (which we do often) then we will keep it unlocked.

I have them open now because I'm home. I lock them before dinner for the night. We have a lot of neighbors home during the day.

Yes, most certainly ... There's been a rash of home break-ins here in Dayton, OH.
Even when I open the doors to let in a breeze --  I lock the storm doors.

I'm not worried about the area I live in but I always have the door locked. Force of habit. LOL!

We don't lock our doors. We do when we vacation but haven't done that in years. In fact if we were to lock our doors we would have to find the key first. Our kids live either across the road or next to us. Three of us have outside dogs so no we don't lock our doors. Our neighbors we have had around us for years and we trust. We live in the country.

I lock the doors before I go to bed at night, otherwise the doors are usually unlocked.

When I have a DR appt or if I am going to town, the back door is locked and the front door is left unlocked...the only reason for that is because the back of the house is not visible to the neighbors on the corner.  I figure that if anyone is gonna rob us, they would find the back of the house easier to gain entry.

I don't lock the back (side) door when I am at home.
I dont feel a need to.
My neighbor  is usually sitting in view of comings and goings.
I keep the other doors locked  out of habit.
If someone wanted to break in they could.
