I love SF.

I used to visit my father in the VA Hospital.

I took the bus from near the Cow Palace.

Can't remember where it is but thought it was sort of by itself .

 

Its beautiful! I have never seen this. I tried to research a little but came up with nothing under blue cone flowers that looks like this. Could it be of the tree or shrub family instead?

Cow Palace is down in Daly City

Hi, adair..... I didn't word that right.

I used to live near the Cow Palace and I would take a bus from there to visit my father in the VA hospital which seemed very far away and on a hill by itself.

This was 1945 so I am sure the scenery has changed. It seems to me there was a big cross on a hill or some sort of statue on the route.

Just where is the VA Hospital?

The VA hospital is on 42nd Avenue and Clement Street........4150 Clement to be exact.  When I take public transit in SF, I always have to remember to make sure that it is for Fort Miley if I am headed for an appointment.

 

There was also Letterman Army Hospital in the Presidio Park.  It was the largest army hospital in use during WWI and WWII.  George Lucas now has his school of cinematography on the site of the hospital.
