Brown Sugar Pie

1 c  Brown sugar
4 tb Cream
1 tb Flour
Pie crust 9 inch; uncooked
1 tb Butter

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Mix the brown sugar, flour, butter and cream. Pour the mixture into an  uncooked pie crust, covering the top with woven strips of pastry dough, if desired. Bake for about 30 minutes.

This pie never seemed to taste the same each time I made it years ago.  Will have to try it again soon.

Interesting. It sounds like the filling would cook into an almost crispy concoction... Maybe something like pecan pie topping?

It sounds simple, just what I need!  What kind of cream?  (stop laughing all you good cooks, I just could never get the hang of it, cooking I mean...)

Adair?  Is that enough to fill one 9" pie pan?  Is it a real thin pie, then?  TRose

Tis complete I think...will check to see if I missed any ingredients.

I think it calls for an 8 inch pie shell though

here is another recipe for brown sugar pie...for the life of me I cannot find the one I originally posted

BROWN SUGAR PIE

       3    Eggs, separated
       2 c  Milk
       2 c  Brown sugar
       4 tb Cornstarch
       3 tb Butter
       1 ts Vanilla
       1    Baked pie shell

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Beat egg yolks and add 1/2 cup of milk.  Stir in brown sugar, salt, cornstarch and 1 1/2 cups milk. Mix well and cook over medium-heat, stirring constantly until bubbly and  thick.

Remove from heat and stir in butter and vanilla. Pour into prepared pie shell.

Beat egg whites until frothy. Gradually add granulated sugar and beat until stiff peaks form. Spread meringue over pie and bake in preheated oven until meringue is golden brown.
