I've been to China and Japan, I've even seen the Isle of Man I've been across the burning sand On the golden road to Samarkand.
I've climbed the mountain of Nepal, And seen the highest waterfall, I've been upon the big red train, To Leningrad and back again,
I've been from Cairo to the Cape I've been to Italy to try the grape, I've found a friend in the Friendly Isles And in the States I walked for miles.
But I've been spared the noise and smell And places that are hot as hell I never stand in great long queues Or pay enormous airport dues.
You too could travel everywhere, And never leave your own armchair No need to book with Thomas cook Just get yourself a -----------------------Library Book!
Penned by my 92 yr old mother Dorothy. |
