how do you want to do this lets bounce some ideas off each other and set up a program of sorts that we both like and set some goals that we can achieve. how does that sound to you you are way ahead of me already beacause you excerise every day that  is great I have been very active all my life sports of all kinds my life style ranch work and running horses working sawmill but these past three years i have suffered with arthitis in both my knees and its getting worse everyday. I am booked for exploratory surgery in about 2 months, most days I have a hard time just walking very min. I am tired of being overweight and gaining at the speed that I am so I am willing to start an excerise program of sorts as well  as diet. What kind of diet do you want to go on counting carbs or calories.what type of weight loss are you looking at and how soon do you want to get there? 3 years ago I weighed 145 lbs. now I weigh 215!!! My tentative goal is to drop 50 lbs in 6 months. In camp we have a state of the art excerise room and at home we have a brand new tread mill that I have only been on once. This is going to be a painful endevour for me but I don't care I am in pain anyways and my way of thinking is that all this extra weight is too much of a burden for my knees so i am willing to give it my best shot. Thank you once again for wanting to buddy up with me I think someone to share the ups and downs with this will be good for both of us. let me know where you are at. thanks bandy

Wonderful!!!

I am 5'8" and should weight around 150lbs ideally. I currently weight abound 190lbs. I went out about 6 months ago and bought a calorie book so I could keep track, it was tough trying to estimate how much you're eating and figure out the calorie content, etc. I would love to do Weight Watchers but there is only 1 meeting in a 100 mile radius, & it's at 5pm on tuesday, I work until 6pm. Grocery shopping I have been trying to buy snack items that are healthy choices and lower in calories. So currently I have been trying to control my portions along with healthier eating choices. It works during the day but at night when I am home or on the weekends it isn't as easy.

I was never into sports when I was younger but was naturally thin (weighted 125 when I got pregnant) but for the last 20 years I have worked for FedEx so I have a physical job. When I moved up to no mans land a couple years back my job became less physical because we aren't as busy here as I was back home. During the spring, summer and fall I am busier at home helping my DH at our resort.

Tell me what you thing?

great tammy sounds like we can do this I have Dr Atkins new diet revolution  2 years ago I tried it for a little while and I was happy with the results I find it easy to count and control the carbs and the induction of 2 weeks is good too so I will follow that diet. as far as an excerise program i think i will start out on the tread mill both here and at home as well as do some basic yoga excerises at one time I was an advanced student that will never happen again . got to go get lunch on the go later

Yes, I am still up for this. After you get familiar with Dr Atkins again, tell me the general idea behind his diet. I am such a fussy eater it gets difficult for me to follow a specific plan. I won't be checking the boards after I leave work today until Monday again. We only have dial up at home and it gets too frustrating. Are we going to "blog" our daily food intake and excercise? or whats the plan here?

hi tammy I have dial up at home too and it is a pain no doubt I think the idea of blogging our daily intake and excerise will make us more accountable don't you do you want to do a measurement and weight chart kind of thing too? We should also incorporate rewards that we buy for ourselves when we reach certain goals like once a month say we lose 10 lbs and say 4 inches for example we buy ourselves something that we really want every month we get a different reward its got to be something that we both really want and wouldn't normally buy for our selves are you into that?Check out atkins web site I'm sure he has one. when are you done work?

I get off work 1745 but by 1715 I am flying around here getting the couriers timecards fixed, and their many issues resolved plus last minute customers who come to the counter before I lock the doors. You get the drift.. I like the idea of measurements (scarey though) and weight chart, plus sharing our highs and lows so we can see if we emotionally eat or whatever. I will check out Atkins website and see if that helps. I will take measurements this weekend and monday at the gym get an acurate weight. What measurements should we do? arms, thighs, waist, hips, chest and butt? Our computer at home is for our business and in the store so I will attempt to get some time on it when my Dh is busy else where.  I am getting excited about this! My reward system is clothes normally but I really should hold off buying clothes until I reach my goal. Maybe a pedicure or facial. Any other good (inexpensive) idea's?

This looks handy. There are good suggestions, calorie counter, carb counter, etc. I think I will write down everything I eat then check it against the website.

hi tammy I checked out the link you put in your post thanks I don't know how to do that yet I'm not to good about learning new things on the computer. I'm thinking about ordering THERMOCERIN I noticed that on the net when I looked up dr atkins myself. It is a fat burner.I was not sure it was aavailable in canada but it is i cana get it on ebaycanada so i am thinking i'll get my daughter to order me some while i'm in camp and the pills will be home when I get there, what do you think about that. I brought a measuring tape with me to camp this time so yes taking the measurements are a must aren't they only like you said scary really scary. arms thighs waist hips chest and butt i guess we have to cover all the bases don't we? gotta to grab a coffee

for the rewards i was thinking for myself i was going to save 100 bucks per month for new clothes when i reach my ideal wieght I haven't thought too much of the monthly goals I have never done a pedicure or facial that would be a good idea I"m going by my time its 4:02 wonder what time you are at now? don't want to screw you up at work. I'll do my measurements this weekend and I'll use the guy's weigh scale here in camp for my first weigh in. I want to ask angelbear about us posting from the spa excerise diet  board we don't want to bore the other ladies with our stuff I'll ask her how our posts will stay on that board rather than go on general are you ok with that? Why don't we shoot for next monday to start that will give us more time to set up the charts etc, I am excited to be doing this with you as well tammy thank you.

Bandy...Quick message to let you know I won't be able to check the boards today or do much on the computer. We got dumped on yesterday with 28 inches of snow and I couldn't get out of our driveway to get to work this morning. The system at home is so slow and dial up that I can't stay on it long since it ties up our office phone. We are waiting to get plowed out so with any luck I will be able to make it to work tomorrow. I was able to get my measurements ( I hope I did them right ) but no my exact weight since I didn't make the gym either. Tomorrow I will post all. Have a great day! Tammy
