I have been watching Monsterfest on and off all evening on AMC. I have knots in my stomach from seeing so much blood! I guess I'm to old for it anymore. LOL!! Oh well, on to the next movie!
I'm not in to the bloody, gory movies either. I like thrillers and mysteries. I, too am an avid Stephen King fan as well as Dean Koontz. I've got just about every book they've written. My hubby belongs to the Stephen King Library book club, so we automatically receive his books. He has a new one coming out called "Lisey's Story".
I love movies that are scary. I agree with SweetSoulBlossmom, though. Do NOT like movies with chainsaws, or anything that is about some psycho just relentlessly hacking everyone to death. Love Stephen King but some of his stories go over the line. When they make them into movies, though, they are not as scary.
Love anything to do with ghosts and anything like that.
I have NO one that will watch anything scary with me any more. DH and DS wimped out over the years.
Dh & I have set aside "Halloween" to watch. We have a Halloween comedy we're watching too. It's the one with Bette Midler called "HocusPocus".I'll bet that movie was so much fun to make.
The scariest movie I ever saw wasw Wait Until Dark. I have never forgaotten it. I'm with Blossom. I like the scifi lots more than I like the blood and gore.
Wow it's been awhile since anyone posted here! I LOVE horror movies. Last one I saw was Hostle II the ending was so PERFECT! My favorite horror flicks though are the "Saw" series. Love it.
I love all horror movies. I read alot of books and most of them are horror also. Just picked up the new Dean Koontz's "The darkest evening of the year" from the library today. I have always loved horror. I love Anne Rice's vampire and witch series. The kind of movies that actually scare me are the ones like Silence Of The Lambs. Because there are actually people like that out there.
Yes Silence of the Lambs is a good one, I like it because it is psychological horror as well as being based on reality. That's why I like SAW and Hostel. They also have some wonderful dark humor that I truly love. I loved Hannibal's last line in Silence "I'm having an old friend for dinner" so perfect.
