Once in awhile I like to watch the old Lucy shows & I have a series of DVD'S of the old Red Skelton Show. Red Skelton brings up memories of sitting on Grandpa's lap & watching all those old shows with him. He loved to watch Nat King Cole. The old Sing Along With Mitch show (remember follow the bouncing ball sing-along), Then there's The Real McCoy's with Walter Brennan. I'm 46 & I remember all those old t.v. shows. Does anyone remember SKY KING from Sat. mornings? Of course Roy Rogers & Dale Evens & Gene Autry. Then there's those Ma & Pa Kettle movies & Blondie & Dagwood movies, The Thin Man movies (Hart to Hart was loosely based on the Thin Man movies). I'm a big fan of a lot of the old black & white movies & t.v. shows. |

This was a good strand. Maybe it can go again.
All the shows you mention really bring back memories. Bonanza was the first show I saw on my grandparents' color TV. Sky King and roy rogers and all those cowboys I watched at my dad's house on Saturdays. I can still sing"Happy Trails to you...."
I still love MASH and know many episodes by heart. My all time favorites are all the versions of Star Trek. Jean Luc Pickard is a total hunk. Captain Kirk was my man in his day. Now he's Denny Crain on boston Legal and he is an absolute stitch on that show. |

As for "Bonanza",I alway's felt sorry for Hoss' horse. Can you imagine having to carry that big guy around all day?I think I'd play sick. |

Dh and I were watching American Idol the other week and he commented on how if it wasn't for a show like Idol, the new talents would have a very difficult time making it in showbiz. That reminded me of the old variety shows where these "newbies" could show their talent and be discovered. Remember the Ed Sullivan Show, Carol Burnett Show, Dean Martin Show? I used to love their skits! Barb |

Bonanza, Mash and Start Trek are my favorites. But I like a lot of the family sitcoms too. Wish we could get all those good old shows on local tv stations. Sonja |

Ohhhhhhhh Now I got to thinkin about this and remembering more of the goodies...... As a kid.......I loved to come home from school.....and I remember Mom would be cooking supper.....and my sister and I would be watching Alfred Hitchcock! and later......Dark Shadows! (which I tried to watch not so long ago when I came across it on a channel someplace....but whatever I liked about it way back then.....is gone now.......lol) and Lost in Space! Ed Sullivan! And it was a weekly thing.......we went to my grandparents on Wednesdays for supper.....and we always stayed and watched Gunsmoke with them....and then we went home. I remember asking my grandmother how come Marshall Dillon and Miss Kitty didn't get married because I thought he liked her...and she was so pretty! LOL (I was only in like 1-2 grade) |
