Alternative Rock?.....pop artist,apparently a very gifted musician.,died young (age 30) while swimming:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeff_Buckley          Biography & photo

The night before his death, Buckley excitedly told his girlfriend Joan Wasser that he believed he had found the cause of his dramatic moods, namely bipolar disorder. The autopsy confirmed that Buckley had taken no illegal drugs before his swim, and a drug overdose was ruled out as the cause of death. He was thirty years old.

A recent statement from the Buckley estate insists:

Jeff Buckley's death was not "mysterious," related to drugs, alcohol, or suicide. We have a police report, a medical examiner's report, and an eye witness to prove that it was an accidental drowning, and that Mr. Buckley was in a good frame of mind prior to the accident.[92]

 Early life

Born in Anaheim, California Buckley was the only son of Mary Guibert and Tim Buckley. His mother was a Panama Canal Zonian of mixed Greek, French, American and Panamanian descent,[while his father was the descendant of Irish immigrants from Cork.

His father was also a singer-songwriter who released a series of highly acclaimed folk and jazz albums in the late 1960s and early 1970s. About his father Buckley said, "I never knew him... I met him once, when I was 8."[Tim Buckley died of a drug overdose in 1975.[

Buckley was raised by his mother and stepfather, Ron Moorhead, in Southern California, and had a half-brother Corey Moorhead.Buckley moved many times in and around Orange County while growing up with a single mother, an upbringing Buckley called "rootless trailer trash".

As a child, Buckley was known as Scott "Scotty" Moorhead based on his middle name and his stepfather's surname.

After his father died, he chose to go by Buckley and his real first name which he found on a birth certificate.

To members of his family he remained "Scotty".[11]

Buckley was brought up around music. His mother was a classically trained pianist and cellist.

His stepfather introduced him to Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, The Who, and Pink Floyd at an early age

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

strange that he never apparently got over his biologiical father's death, because, he gave a Concert (his first) dedicated to his father's memory even though the father obviously didn't bother with him much (saw him only one time at age 8)

He even changed his name, from his Stepfather' (who raised him), to this dead father's name, "i.e. Buckley"..

Sounds like a very troubled young man, and he said, just before he died, he found out he was BI-Polar which explained his extreme mood changes.

In the Equal House Chart, he had (the drowning death), Atropos Transiting his 8th house.,of death.

Saturn also (over the 8th - Equal houses), is transiting at 17°Aries.,that fateful night.

We see that over his 6th house of Health Uranus (the unexpected event) over his Natal Moon at 8AQU.

Transiting Pluto at 4SAG rx, over his Natal Atropos, (the asteroid we use for death, along with Moira, the 4 fates) Atropos means, "Cutting the Ties that bind us".

Pluto is the indicator of the death near his home...Uranus the way he died, (by accident)over the health house.;  along with Neptune (the drowning event - at a very critical 29th deg.45minutes Capricorn;

and Saturn of course, always around 'the lord of karma" house 8.

This natal pretty much fills the requirements of a death chart's transits.
Moira (one of the Greek Fates), is transiting over his 1st house as is the BML.
He had been pretty depressed, (see his photo), and biography, it seems to me, most of his young life and told his girlfirend, he found out it was Bi-Polar disorder.

The Natal gives us only an inkling that there could be trouble, (Saturn in Pisces 22nd degree rx; in the chart - so "repeating" the karmic cycle
Chiron nearing the 22nd degree, his Vertex 0CAP. we wouldn't know about,.....it must have meant a person, or a lover (5th hs.)

These very late degrees such as Scorpio Sun 25th deg.,Venus in Scorpio, 28th deg.,are all worrisome for great depression , alcholism, and/or drugs as well.

His Mars in the "loss degree" at 21Virgo

interesting death chart. I'm sure  his life however was quite missed by many (see the many credits of accomplishments to his name on the biog.)
