Where we visited last December in the middle of Turkey, there is a resurgence of housing going on. The Rock Caves of thousands of years ago, hiding the early christians from those who would do them harm, hid in these caves, built churches in them from the soft stone rock (limestone?)
When we were there, we were told that the English are buying up the old caves & remodeling them.
Now this small town of 12,000 is remodeling some of these caves for inhabitation and many English people are buying there I've heard and creating B&B (Bed and Breakfast) out of former caves:
($96,000 US dollars), is very inexpensive for sure. About 1/2 that price in Euros.
