In the past. my Dr has given me a "6 pak" and write for 1 refill. This usually does the job on what I have. The cost is around $10.00. You take 2 pills the first day with or without food and 1 pill per day for the next 5 days. Hence, a 6 pak.  They work so good for me, if I have the double prescription. They are made by PLIVA and called Azithromycin Tablets @ 250 MG. Hope that his could work for you....Ed

We call it a "Z pack" here.  But in order for me to get it I have to pay a doctor $80 to $100 and then take my chances on whether or not he will prescribe it for me!!!!!  But, you are right...they usually DO work if one can get ahold of them!

I guess that I am very spoiled. I have a lot of benefits in my retirement package. I have Dental for myself & Michele. We pay about 20% of the finished bill. when I go to the Emergency Room, my top pay is $100. My co-pay at the DR's is $18.00 and the "Z Pak" costs me $10. When I had my knee replaced, the bill was over $44,000 and my share was $1200. You do not really become aware of these things until you hear about others. My thoughts are with you Grammit, Chester, and the others. As you are truly a remarkable woman. May the good Lord show his face to you....Ed
