Good evening all... Hope you all are doing well! I am feeling a lot better today, with my tummy.  I got to try out the chili I made yesterday!  Not bad! Caity took a good nap, and then she had some new kind of chicken soup by Campbell's , it has the little gold fish shaped noodles in it. She seemed to like it a lot!  Someone tried to break into Tracy's house on Sat. night. They got into Scott's truck, and got the garage door opener, and Tracy was up with Caity at the time, and she heard the door open,so she thought it was Scott outside messing around, then she closed the garage door, and went back upstairs and Scott was in bed, so she woke him up, but by then they were gone!  Scott has a few vehicles in the yard  and they had opened the doors on all of them, and in his truck they loosened Caity's carseat and tipped it over.??? Why ? Who knows. So they took to garage door opener with them so they must be planning to come back. Scott unhooked it, and he is going to have the codes changed. But they have a security system, but it's not in the garage, so they think they might get it put out there, now. They were to call the police today. So I haven't heard yet what they said!  Seems to be a lot of this going on around here lately!  I just hope Tommy doesn't find out cause he has a big fear of someone  taking him. He is just getting over it and this would really freak him out.

Marsha - Glad you are having a nice day there. We had a lot of Fog this morning and it has been a really cloudy day. in the mid 60's. Hope your drain problems are solved! Take care.

Pat - - You sound like you just UP AND AT 'EM this morning !!! Glad to hear it. Sounds like you did great at wal-mart. --A small trip with your mom would be nice, that;s what Tracy did for me.  Take care.

Have a great evening everyone... Kathy

Good morning!  We've got a cold front coming through, so all the kitties are running and playing. Even Mr Boofuss has some energy this morning! It's still a bit warm for this hour of the morning, but it's only supposed to get up to around 80 today, and much cooler tonight.

I don't have a whole lot to do today. Just picking up around here and tidying up the kitchen. I think I'll pull something out of the freezer and put it in the crock pot for supper.

Pat - You got some good deals at Wal-Mart! It always helps when you can save some money on Christmas gifts!
Mr Boofuss doesn't go outside at all, so I imagine if he ever came face to face with a squirrel or a mouse, he'd probably turn and run! LOL! But, the outside kitties are always catching birds and mice. Then, they usually leave them on our doormat. Ewww! I think we give them enough food so that they don't eat their catches.
Your Mom will love a little trip for her Christmas present! That's a great idea!

Kathy - I'm so glad that no one managed to break into Tracy's house! That's scary! Good thing Scott could unhook the garage door. That opener isn't going to do the thieves any good now. Maybe the police could find some fingerprints.
I'm so glad you're feeling better! Tummy problems are no fun.
Yup! The drain is running nicely! I'd rather we took care of things like this instead of getting one of the maintenance men down here.

I guess I'll get going and get a few things done. You all have a great day!
Hugs, Marsha

What a chilly and wet morning this is... Makes me just want to go back to bed... Staying up last night until 4 am playing on this stupid machine probably doesn't help either.  What a dummy I am!

Yesterday I just puttered around most of the day.  I got a lot of stuff put away and some stuff cleaned but nothing major. I did make a great supper though - Baked spare ribs, potatoes, spaghetti squash, carrots/parsnips and small bowls of my home made cauliflower soup to start. Mom took all the remaining veggies downstairs with her and that will keep her supplied for the rest of the week.

Just before dinner, I was petting Misty and discovered a terrible wound on her side just near the back. The circle is about 2" round and there is no fur left there at all!  It was bloody and definite teeth marks and looked about a day old.  Misty calmy let me poke around at it as if knowing I would fix it for her.  She did not seem to be in any pain from it so I just covered it with some Polisporin.  I couldn't find my Peroxide - don't know where that could have gone.  I wonder what would have left such a large wound as that?  Perhaps a racoon? Cyote? (sp) It must have been something of a good size.  She seems fine again this morning and the wound looks a bit better.  Cats do heal very quickly.

Last night I made birthday plans with mom for the week.  Today I get her showered and colour her hair and set it. Wednesday we go to the Mandarin for lunch with a few women friends.  Thursday I have a doctor's appointment in Toronto so she will come with me and her, Cate and I will go for lunch. Then on Friday I will drive her to London to visit my brother Bob, his adult kids and their kids! We plan to stay in a motel Friday night, Saturday and Sunday giving us plenty of time for visiting and perhaps a trip to the London Casino too. Then we'll head for home early Monday morning.  She is quite excited by all the plans and really looking forward to the rest of the week.  It was the best birthday present I could think of......  We should see a lot of Fall colours on our travels too.

By the looks of outside, I think today will be an indoor day.  There is always lots to do around to keep me very busy. It felt so chilly this morning that Jim turned the fireplace on and now its toasty warm - making me even more likely to go and have a bit of a snooze later.  (lol)

Take care all and enjoy your last day of September.

PAT

Kathy - How awful that people can't just leave other's stuff alone. I'm glad they didn't get into the house!

Marsha - Our animals seem to have an instinct for the weather don't they?  Nice of the outside cats to leave you little presents on your doorstep.  I guess they think they are helping with the groceries!  (lol) I haven't even thought about supper yet.  Perhaps a nice squirrel stew or baked bird with a bit of stuffing on the side?  (lol)

Good evening everyone! Hope you all are well. I am OK. Had a short day with Caity. Then I got the house picked up and ran the sweeper. When Tracy came to get Caity, she said she had a horrible day at work. They had recently hired a new dentist , and he was on his way to work this morning, and an elderly man was at his mailbox and stepped right out into traffic in front of this dentist and he hit the man and killed him. IT was truly accidental,  but the poor guy was in hysterics and someone from the office went to be with him til his wife came after him. So needless to say all the people at work were just so upset. And I feel terrible too, Tracy had just driven down the same road, and my God  it could of been her that the man stepped out in front of.  So we have just all been in a funk around here this afternoon. It's so sad for everyone.  Think I will get off the puter and just go lay down.

Marsha -G's your weather is still better than ours. We got up to the lower 60's today and cloudy and rainy , too.  The police did not take finger prints, they told Scott this isn't CSI !!! Oh by then Scott was burning up! But he kept his cool. I guess they won't be doing much to help out. I think our local cops came from the Keystone Kops!!  It is so discouraging!! Take care.

Pat - - Your supper last night sounds great!! Sorry to hear about Misty, hope she heals up OK. Your B-day plans for your MOM sound wonderful! I'm sure she'll enjoy it very much!!! Take care.

Have a good night everyone, I am just going to bed!  Take care of your selves! Kathy

Good morning everyone!  It's a bit cool outside - down to 52! But, it feels so nice! You can really feel that hint of autumn. When Michael left, all the kitties were out running and playing.

Not much going on here. I played around in PSP for a while yesterday. I'll post what I made so you all can snag if you want. I'm learning to make stationary for Incredimail, too. It looked easy, but it's not! LOL! Maybe I'll do some more of that today - not quite sure.

Pat - Your supper sounds so good! I love the veggies!
Poor Misty! It's good that she let you take care of it. It might be a good idea to keep her inside until it heals. You're right - cats do heal quickly. The cat we had growing up tangled with a blue jay. That bird pecked a hole in her leg all the way to the bone. My Mom called the vet, but he said to just keep an eye on it. The wound healed quickly, and she was just fine.
Your Mom is going to love her trip! Tell her Happy Birthday from me, and give her a big hug!

Kathy - I'm sure the dentist feels just horrible. I would have been in hysterics, too. My prayers will be with him and the other man's family.
OMG! The cops didn't dust for fingerprints?!!!! I always thought that was standard! I'm not surprised that Scott was angry. It doesn't sound like the cops are going to do anything. Your police sound like the ones here - they either carry it to extremes, or do nothing at all.

Better go get busy. You all have a great day!
Hugs, Marsha

Good morning everyone!  Its another cold and rainy day today. (sigh)  I guess summer is truly over around here.  Sad to see it go so quickly.

Yesterday went very well.  Mom got her shower and her hair coloured a soft blond.  She has little hair so there was lots left over.  I used it myself on my roots! Two for the price of one!  It was fun doing ourselves up and sitting around timing while we gabbed. Got her all rinsed out and set her hair for her.  I ended up sticking around for quite awhile after just talking and watching a movie with her.

Jim and I wrestled with the queen sized bed in our guest room and finally got it downstairs and set up in mom's bedroom.  I thought we were going to just exchange mattresses but it turns out that mom's bed was only a double.  Anyway, we got it all set up for her and I'm curious how well she slept last night on the better bed.

Day two of her birthday (which is actually today) is lunch at the Mandarin.  A girlfriend of mine is coming and a girlfriend of mom's is joining us with a friend of hers.  Also a young male volunteer that 'visits' with mom once a week will join us too.  Its turning into quite a party of 6 people now. Should be fun.

Sure wish it were a bit warmer.  We have the fireplace going again this morning. Unfortunately we are expecting more rain today too and the skies are grey and dreary looking.  No sunshine to be found anywhere. But we deal with what we are granted right?

Around 9:30 this morning, Tara will be coming to pick me up.  I told her I would help her deliver some of her Avon for an hour or so.  It so much easier for her when I do the driving.  She can just hop out, deliver and hop right back in.

Take care all and enjoy your day.

Kathy:  How terrible for that poor man! To see up close a life being snuffed out so easily.....

Marsha: Its true that vets usually do very little for cat's wounds unless they actually need a few stitches. Misty is doing fine and she's looking a bit better every day.  I'm sure she will be fine. And yes, I will keep her in for a week or so.

Good evening everyone! Hope you all are fine! I  am good, a little tired from a lot of running today. I went for my x-ray on my leg, but the nurse there said I will probably need an ultra sound or mri to really tell whats going on!  Then it was on to Marc's for groceries and then stopped at walmart, got a few more groceries and my meds. Also got Caity a book with Mickey Mouse stickers in it, cause she says "Caity need them"! lol.
Tracy had the day off so no word as to whats happening with the dentist or if he will even come back to work! Guess she will find out tomorrow.

Marsha - Our high today was 56 and we had a lot of rain! It just felt downright cold! I have incredimail on my computer but I hardly use it anymore, I 'll have to go back to it. Have a great day.

Pat - -Hope you and your mom enjoyed your lunch, sounds like you arehaving a good time for her B-day!!!  Have fun with Tara too. Take care.
Well eveyone, I am going to get off here for the evening and go watch some TV. Take care, all. Night........Kathy

Good morning Nest! Is it too early for Halloween tags? LOL!
It's chilly again this morning, but that's nice! We were surprised to see on the weather channel that we might have some thunderstorms tomorrow. We definitely need the rain. We haven't had any since Ike went through.

I guess I'd better get into the kitchen this morning and bake something for Michael's lunch. Not sure what it'll be. I'll go looking through the recipe sites and see if I can find something a bit different.

Pat - How was lunch? Sounds like you were going to have lots of fun! It was cool enough here that the air conditioner didn't kick in all night, and hasn't yet this morning. It won't be long before we'll shut it off all together and turn on the heat.

Kathy - I'm not surprised that the doctor will probably want an ultra sound or mri on your leg. The x-ray will only show the bone.
I love using Incredimail! It's so much fun! You can use so many different stationaries along with the emoticons. I never use Outlook Express anymore.

I guess I better get my posting done so I can get into the kitchen! You all have a great day!
Hugs, Marsha

Good afternoon all:  I'm late getting in here today.  I was supposed to be going to Toronto for my doctor appointment but they called at 8:00 to cancel it.  I guess my doctor is pretty sick and I have been rescheduled for October 23.  Mom and I hummed and hawed about going to Toronto anyway to see Cate but decided against it.

We still leave tomorrow morning for the weekend in London and have to drive towards Toronto to connect with the 401 highway.  Perhaps we will continue on through to see Cate on the way. I have Cate's birthday gift to mom here (all wrapped) and I'm sure that Cate would like to give it to mom herself.

Yesterday was fun t the Mandarin.  We ended up with 6 people and spent the whole lunch gabbing about everything. The waitors sang Happy Birthday to mom and gave her a large slice of Black Forest Cake.  Halfway through our meal, Tara showed up and tossed a cardboard smiley face in front of mom. Then she said bye and took off again!  Mom looked at the card and when she opened it, there was a certificate inside for a free meal at Cora's restaurant.  (How nice!  Mom likes that place)

About an hour later, Tara showed up again and told us that she, Terry, his mom and aunt were all enjoying the buffet here too.  I went into one of the other rooms and visited with them all for a few minutes. Then they all came back to our room and wished mom a Happy Birthday.  Small world eh?

I went downstairs this morning with my tea and mom and I talked for about 2 hours.  I asked her about her wedding to dad and that got her remembering all kinds of things. It was nice for her I think to relive some of those days so many years ago. She was telling me things that happened so long ago that she had not thought of them in years. Maybe she can't remember last week so well anymore but she can recall over 60 years ago!

I came back upstairs and decided that if I were home anyway, I'd best get some cleaning done. I have been using OXY Clean and water and my new mop to scrub the tiles around the bathtub.  That's the only way I can reach high enough and it's working just great. In a few more minutes I will go and give it all a good rinse.

I normally do my laundry on Fridays but seeing as how we will be taking off early, perhaps I'll get that done up today instead. Jim came home from work this morning with a whole case (24) og cans of Carnation milk.  They are normally around $1.29 but he got them from Walmart's sale for .99 so I bought the whole case. I use it for baking and Tara's hubby (Terry) likes it for his coffee.

Well, that's about it for me today.  I hope you are all having a good day.  Take care and keep safe.

PAT

Marsha:  I guess Halloween isn't that far way is it? We have already turned the fireplace on a few days.  It's been quite chilly.

Kathy:  Sure hope they find out what's going on with your leg.  I recently had a MRI on my left leg but haven't got the results back yet. It must be so cute listening to Caity chatting!

Good evening all. Hope you are doing OK. I am good. Been a long day here tho. I ofcourse had Caity. Then I made a crockpot(6qt) full of spaghetti sauce. We gave Caity her stickers and we have all been stickered up all day. She puts them on our clothes and hers too. so we looked "so Pretty". She was so happy when we gave them to her, she was just so excited!! Kids!!

Marsha -  Not too early for halloween tags for me!! It was cool here today. Not sure of the temp but we've had the furnace going all day and it felt pretty good! LOL. Hope  you found something  good to bake! Take care.

Pat - - Hmmmm, it's not good  when your Dr. is sick. Lets h ope he can fix himself right up. Have fun on your trip tomorrow. Please be careful. That's funny about Tara at the Mandarin yesterday. Oh I am sure you enjoyed your MOM's reminisences. I love the hear about old times.  Take care.

Well everyone have a great night. luv ya all, Kathy

I'm going to try this one more time! MSN is giving me a headache this morning. I've tried to post this twice already, and it just disappears. What a pain!

What are you all up to today? I really haven't got much planned. I need to get some pork chops in the crock pot and then maybe clean up a bit. Michael's off tomorrow, so we're planning to take a bunch of stuff over to storage. Just getting rid of the clutter!

Pat - Your lunch sounds like a blast! I'll bet your Mom had a great time! I love to listen to the stories of the old times. It's so interesting!
Be safe on your trip, but have a great time!

Kathy - Monica & Andrew would put their stickers all over us, too. It's so cute!
It's not near cool enough to have the heat on yet! The air conditioner is still running, but not near as much as it was. I'll be glad when we can turn it off for a while.

I guess I'd better go and get something done. You all have a wonderful day!
Hugs, Marsha

Just dropping in to say Hi to everyone.

Ed, save a plate of pasta for me.  Hey, how come you got the nice weather and we're so wet?  It has been nice the last couple of days, but before that it was just rain, rain, rain.  We're eleven inches above normal.  Our temps are about 50F in the morning, but it heats up pretty quick.

I hope you all get this. I can read most of the posts, but when I try to answer, it locks up.

Take care groupies;
Gene

Good morning!  I tried to post several times yesterday morning, but MSN was being a pain, and I didn't have time to fool with it. I'm hoping it's in a better mood today!

We're having a beautiful weekend! Lots of sunshine with a nice breeze and temps only around 80. It was nice being out and about yesterday. Looks like we're going to get some rain tomorrow and Tuesday, but we need it. This will be the first rain we've had since Ike went through.

Gene - You've had enough rain to float a battleship in your front yard! LOL! I don't remember ever having that much rain when we were in Jax. I hope you're drying out.

Kathy - If you're using Incredimail, you might have to go to the web site and re-download the program. They've made alot of changes lately.
I'm like you, though. When things keep locking up, I tend to just shut it all off. I hope you're having a better day today!

I've got some things to get done here, so better get to it. You all have a great day!
Hugs, Marsha

Hello everyone! It has been a good day here,. The temps are aobut 60. We went to my neice's so Bill could do her lawn, and then stopped at Tracy's cause they were having a cookout, well all the food was gone by the time we got there. So we just came home and fixed a bite to eat here. So there's not a lot on TV right now. I've been watching "I Love Lucy", but they showed some of them this morning too. So it's hard to take 2 of the same shows in one day. LOL.

Marsha -  I will have to go back into incredimail. But it was my aol mail that kept freezing up the other day. Someone had sent pictures and they just wouldnt load. So that was the trouble with that. Have a good night.

Take care, hope you are doing well. Kathy
