| Can't believe how much sleep I am needing lately! I feel like I could go and have a nap again already this morning. Maybe I'm getting ready to hibernate with this cooler weather. (lol) Not much planned for the day so far. I haven't heard from Cate yet so I guess I won't be driving to Toronto yet. Bright and early this morning Jim and I carried mom's older mattress and box spring upstairs to set up in the guest room. That was a bit of a job! Now I just have to make it up and it will all ready for Cate when she does come. I will be showering mom soon and getting her hair set. She has an appointment tomorrow and wants to look nice for it. There are some good sales on at Zehrs this week so Jim and I will be popping over there a bit later. They have Del Monte canned veggies on for .59 a tin and I need to stock up on them for my pantry. I also need some fresh veggies to cook up for mom. Last night I made some Sheppard's Pie and sprinkled grated cheese over top of it. That was yummy. Don't know what I'll make for tonight yet. This weather kind of has me hankering for a big pot of stew. Comfort foods..... We bought our turkey yesterday to have on Monday. I think Tara's clan will be joining us too. Perhaps I'll do up a ham to go with it. We saw the Turdunkin in the store for the first time too. It was $64.00 and I don't think I will be buying it anytime soon. Good evening everyone ! Hope you all are fine! Bill and I have been cleaning most of the day. Trying to get some things rid up around here, my neice will coming on Friday. We put up clean curtains in the kitchen and washed that window, and I did the one window in the dining room and put up fresh curtains. Got the bathroom all scrubbed up. Then I scrubbed the kitchen and dusted the other rooms and ran the sweeper! I was just pooped after all that. My old back was screaming. I do want to do a little more in my bedroom maybe this evening. I was worn out when I got to it. lol .I took a darvecet and my back is feeling some better now, so maybe I can go on for a while longer tonight. Then I made some chili sauce for hotdogs and thats what we had to eat-hotdogs! Marsha - Our weather is cool today too. We had rain most of the day. And it's been really dark all day. I love to crochet too. Hope you enjoyed your day. Pat - - I'm sure tugging that matress and box springs upstairs exhausted you both. Have fun shopping! | Good morning! It's wonderfully cool again. But it's supposed to start warming up a bit. It looks like we're going to have a nice weekend. So, we'll be able to take alot of this stuff I've pulled out over to storage. At least it'll be out of here. I've been doing a bit of cleaning here and there. Getting us all ready for the colder weather. I've been trying to get my grocery list made out. I looked at the sale paper from the grocery store yesterday, and there's lots of good stuff this week. Pat - I think we all go through periods where it seems like we just never get enough sleep. When I feel like that, I just sit in the chair and nap. LOL! I know what you mean! Seems that the more stuff I pull out to get rid of, the more I find. Things don't look much different around here, either. But at least I know I'm working on it! Like you, with the cooler weather I want to make comfort foods - nice warm stews and such. I've been taking all my leftovers and putting them in a big container for soup. So, the first cold day, that's what we'll have. Kathy - You were busy! I need to get into the bathroom and get it scrubbed, too. But, I want to get some Tilex before I do that. Down here, we tend to get mold, and I've noticed a couple of spots. I thought I had some Tilex, but I guess I'm out. I sure don't want that mold to take hold. | Good morning everyone. I'm just getting ready to head for Toronto this morning. Cate's all ready to come up and I'll be driving down there by myself. (Yippee) I actually enjoy being by myself in the car once in awhile. I can have my music on as high as I want and can leave my windows open. Jim will be taking mom to her appointment today for me before he hits the sack.How wonderful to see the sun shining today! It makes such a difference to my mood. I'm looking forward to the drive. If I get there by noon hour, we can leave the city for home before the big rush hour begins. Rush hours in Toronto are just crazy and we could be stuck forever if we don't leave early. So that's my day so far. I hope you are all fine today and have a good day. PAT |

| Hello all. How is your day? Mine was fine! I had to take Caity for a ride to get her to sleep , tho. It worked like a charm and she slept 2 hours. She is such a lovey dovey girl lately! Just giving hugs and kisses and "Mawsy" eats that up! lol. I just did my dishes and straightened up from her leaving. She really didn't make a big mess today tho. Marsha - Hey girl, don't work too hard down there in Texas! I know I about did myself "in" yesterday!! Don't get into any trouble that I wouldn't get into either.. LOL.. Pat - - Have a safe trip to Toronto. I know what you mean about driving by yourself, I turn my oldies but goodies on when I am alone!! lol.. Well everyone have a good evening! Take care, Kathy |

| Good morning! What have you all got planned for today? I guess I'll have to do some laundry. I'll wait until the sun comes up and get down there early - as usual. I didn't get as much done yesterday as I wanted to. But, I have to stop when some joints decide they've had enough. LOL! It'll all get done eventually. Pat - How's Cate? I know what you mean about rush hours! I watch the news and they show the traffic in Dallas. Yuck! I do the same thing when I'm alone in the car - turn the CD player on and play it as loud as I want! Kathy - I try to stay out of trouble! LOL! But sometimes I think it finds me! Hahahahahaha! Peyton isn't a hugger - at least not yet. But, Taylor sure is! She's always giving hugs and kisses. | Wow! It's October 10th already? Time is just spinning away whether we pay attention to it or not. So I have decided to do our large ThanksGiving meal on Sunday instead of Monday. That way it doesn't interfere with people going back to work after eating a huge meal. I got Cate here no problem yesterday. Today we are going shopping with mom too of course. We have several places in mind and I'm sure I will be beat by the time we get back home. We have a beautiful sunny Autumn day to cruise around in so that will be pleasant at least. The colours around here are gorgeous right now! I am planning on BBQing some pork chops for our dinner tonight. Not too many more chances to do that. Today is also laundry day but we'll have to wait and see about that one. (lol) So - Does anyone know why witches can't have any babies? Because their husbands all have hollow weenies! Finally able to post. Hello everybody. Not much happening here. The weather has been really beautiful for the last few days.....how strange! LOL We have had lots of company, but did have a few days of quiet. The kids will be here tonight and we'll go to the farmers market in the morning, so quiet time is over. LOL Tom and I worked in the garden this morning, then lolled about in the hot tub after lunch for a bit and then just sat on our lovely new deck and read and played cards. Too soon I had to come in and start supper. Squash soup, linguine with clams and clam sauce, baked snapper, and steamed cauliflower, romaine and tomato salad and garlic bread. I made some yogurt cheese so they can have that with fresh blueberries for dessert. After dinner we're set to play Brainiac....loser gets to make breakfast. My grandson is trying to bribe me to throw the game because he doesn't want his father to cook breakfast! lol. I am reading a great book which I heartily recommend. It's called "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. It is filled with the wit and courage of ordinary people and offers much food for thought. It's characters will stay with you for a long time. Well, gotta go. Don't know when MSN will let me come back, but until then, I shall remain as always.... Gene PS. Hello everyone! Boy I 've had a long day! My neice was to come for dinner at 1:30 and didn't show up til 3, so I had made spaghetti and it sat til they got here. It was still pretty good. Then we had bleuberry cheesecake. And Fresh Italian bread. But anyhow, my neice has 2 grandchildren which her daughter lives with them - and so between Caity and those 2 they were running around here like crazy, which is something Caity doesn't do - she is very well behaved. Then Scott and Tom came and the house was filled!! So now I am ready for a break! I am going to watch some TV and relax! Marsha - Did ya get all tha laundry done? That's what I will be doing tomorrow after Caity leaves,, unless Bill helps me while she's here. Take care,. Good morning all: Busy, busy today! I am having our ThanksGiving dinner tomorrow instead of Monday and this place really needs some TLC. Cate is downstairs visiting mom, leaving me free to work on things a bit. I am just putting the second load of laundry in and have scrubbed half the kitchen floor. The other half will get done during the next wash load as my machiness are in my kitchen area. Jim is sound asleep so out of my hair too. I don't know how long my energy will last but I'll just keep going until then. Although it is unlikely that anyone will be sitting outside, I have put out all the chair cushions making it look inviting out there and also removing the cushions from their unsightly place in my front hall. I've cleaned and recovered the BBQ from our supper last night so the back deck looks better too. Lots of time the guys will sit out there to smoke and have a beer. I'd love to crank up my 50's and 60's music while I work but that would keep Jim awake. (sigh) He is working again tonight and then is off for 3 nights in a row. | Good morning everyone! We kept ourselves busy yesterday! Got quite a bit of stuff out of here and into storage. Of course, moving stuff in the car is going to take quite a while because we can't get that much stuff in the car. Oh well! It'll get done eventually. If the owner isn't happy about the way things are going, then let him do it! LOL! Today, Michael is back to work, and I'm going to take it easy. I've got a bit of a sinus headache, so I'll take something for it here in a bit and just rest my eyes. Pat - I love the joke! What's for your Thanksgiving dinner? I hope you have a wonderful day! I've got a tag that I'm working on for you - just haven't had time to finish it. Maybe I'll get to it later today. Yep! We took several breaks yesterday. We'd drop stuff at storage, and then stop by one store or another to pick something up, then home to rest for a bit before doing it all over again. Gene - You've been having lots of company! I know you're having a great time. So, who had to make breakfast? Kathy - Nope! Didn't get the laundry done. I went down to the laundry room, and there were so many people down there that I just turned around and came home. I'm planning to do it tomorrow morning. | Good afternoon all: I have been cooking all day! Tara and clan should be arriving any time now and I thought I would take a few minutes break to try to do my groups. All day yesterday I cleaned. My kitchen floor has never been so clean! I even waxed it and I never do that! Then all the regular stuff, polished wood furniture, windexed everywhere including my patio doors. Looks (and smells) so good in here. I am very proud of myself for lasting so long and getting 'er done. I hope everyone is having a great Sunday. Take care and keep safe. PAT Marsha - I have been taking breaks like crazy for the past two days! They are getting closer together too. (lol) We are having turkey of course, ham, mashed potatoes, cabbage, brusel sprouts, carrots, parsnips, asparagus, yams, corn, dill pickles, pickled beets, whole cranberries and fresh baked buns. Dessert will be cold pumpkin pie, hot apple pie, whipped cream and ice cream. I will also put out some white cupcakes for anyone who wants something different. We all like a lot of veggies. Kathy - Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours too! Are you doing a dinner tomorrow? Ed - Good thing you noticed that spider! Could have been one of the kids. |

Good evening all. How are you doing tonight? I am fine. We took a short ride to a meat packing place for some pepperoni and cheese, I had such a craving for it for snack last night, so I told Bill this morning WE are going to go get some!! LOL ,........ The leaves are beautiful today. They were having some open houses at some farms today but we didnt stop at them. I Had a roast in the oven while we were gone so I didnt want to dawdle.. (sp) .But at any rate it felt good to get out, and the temp is about 80 out there right now. Just a beautiful day all around! So when we got home I made mashed taters and green beans and gravy to go with the roast and it really was delicious, since I don't make a good meal all that often! lol.. The only trouble with it , is all the dishes afterward!! Thats the part I really hate!! Marsha - WOW you sure did get a lot done yesterday. As for me now, I am still trying to get up the gumption(sp) to run the sweeper. haha!! The last few days had gotten me down. Seems I've been rather busy lately. Take care. Pat - - Our Thanksgiving isnt til NOV. So I do know that Tracy is going to W.V. But Bill and I will at least have a turkey breast and the trimmings. After all I dont get turkey every day... Try to let the kids do the cleaning up for you after the meal, its only fair if you cook , they should do the dishes. I hope you are enjoying the day! Take care.
