They came in morning hours, as a faint sound over the horizon. Captain Mathyas and his men were already informed earlier of their arrival, and each nodded to each other as they looked down the caravan road. Captain Mathyas and two of his men left for the village, to clear room around the market area. The rest stayed to welcolm the visitors.
In a flash of song and colorful banners, the circus performers rounded the ben and entered Elmshade. Acrobats, dancers, colored clowns, and even tumbling halflings all waved colorful banners and joined in a cheerful song as they marched into the market. Colorful wagons and Vardas pulled by exotic hairy elephants followed the rest into the village, promising fun and mystery inside.
As they passed around the market completing a circle, one of the Vardas opened up, with help from some of the circus crew, spraying fireworks, and colored streamers into the air. Appearing from the colored smoke on the wagon stage is a colorful elven bard. He cresendos the still resounding song along with his fellow performers as residents of the village gather around in awe and cheer. Children dance and play as the performers hand out candy, and fruit. Wemon and men alike join in the joyouse song of the circus, and dance with each other, and the performers themselves. Within a matter of minutes the Elmshade marketplace is filled with festivities, games, food, drink, and song.
After an hour of dancing and song, and when most of the locals have shown up to see what the commotion is all about, the apparent leader of the circus, the colorful elven bard, stands on the stage and gets everyones attention with a large spray of colored lights from his fingertips. The handsome elf smiles wide, and spreads his arms. "Thank you for the warm welcolm people of Elmshade. I am Trebleo Villiete, and these are my fellow performers of the travelling circus..... BardFest!" The other performers shout out, and shake hands with some of the other locals. The locals cheer, glad to see a normal circus in town. Trebleo speaks up again, holding out his hands to the crowd. "Thank you again Elmshade. Now may I present our hosts and reason for being here!..... The Mage Trinity of Elmshade!" Trebloe backs away to the side of the stage clapping, and looking to the rear of the stage. Raven, Silvara, and Arienne all walk out to the stage as the village applaudes. They all respectfully bow to Trebleo and the crowd before Raven steps forward and raises a hand to calm them. "Thank you Elmshade. We are here today to celebrate a new era of Elmshades growth, and we will not only celebrate today, but Master Trebleo and the rest of the BardFest has decide to stay all week to celebrate!" He looks to Trebleo and winks, who in turn smiles and bows back to the white mage. The rest of the crowd roars in cheer, over joyed at the sound of festivities all week long. Raven nods smiling, and raises a hand again to calm the crowd. He motions behind him to Silvara, who steps forward and hands Raven a folded up cloak. Raven turns back around and looks into the crowd. "Now we will start this celebration with its reason for being." He looks carefully into the crowd, and spots his target. Pointing down to the handsome local that everyone in town knew..... Araon Elmshade. "Araon? Come up here." Raven smiles as Araon steps up on stage, looking nervouse. Raven pulls him close next to him, and looks out into the crowd. "People of Elmshade! I present to you the first governing body this village has ever known. A man that will propell this village into the future, and care for its needs. The new Mayor Lord of Elmshade Village! Araon Elmshade!" Raven then unfurls the black, white and violet cloak which holds the crest of Elmshade on its back in silvery fabric... and places it on Araons shoulders. He then steps back, and joins everyone else in applaud, and cheer. Even the circus performers set off fireworks and streamers, covering Araon and the area in colorful confetti.
Next as the cheers die down, some of the locals... including the loud mouthed Jarlosh, call for the new Mayor to give a speach. Everyone else in the crowd cheers as well, wanting to hear from their new Lord. Even the mage Trinity stands silently awaiting to hear what he may say.

Many commoners come and go around the group of friends.

Many of the outland farmers have never seen such a spectacle as flamboyant as the traveling minstrels or a colored big top full of sights from far away lands.

The sounds of shocked gasping and genuine laughter can be heard many times over as the towns residents inspect the assembling tents and participate in the wares, gming and dancing that is beginning to crop up spontaneously all over.

Mixed somehwhere in the throngs of ppl a small young petite blue eyed girl stands in a simple farmers dress and bare feet. She leans in to talk to her pet sheep. But she whispers a gruff raspy deep voice "So THAT is thier king? A-ron? Bah! Any of his friends will be high ups so watch them to. We will give a very good report, hehehe, yes indeed. Remember them all. and notice their ways brother. Will will be the best scouts again this mission!
There sure is alot of fancy dressed ones with weapons aint there. "

"Baa?"

"Well for such a small town anyway"

This great meeting of man and elf idiocy will be good cover
... not to mentinon the twin dragon attack.
They killed that red. That'll make the warchief think twice.
SHE was right tho, they don't have any real defenses do they? "

"BaaaaaaaaaBaaaaaaaaaaa!"

"Yes Anuk, next time I will be the animaul, Har Har Har"

As everything is finally assembled the sundips in the sky and the crowds swell with those that have heard the tidings and those that initally ran from the distant sounds of "cannon" fire ((fireworks))

Not far away from the festivities, Raven has set up rows of his homemade fireworks. As an alchemist, his skills with the black powder had turned into a hobby of creating these colorful light shows. As the sun sets on the village, the fireworks show begins. A sound of small explosions, then followed by sparkling trails of sparks flies far up into the air over the village. Two and three at a time are set off, exploding into large colorful bursts, in the shapes of flowers and animals.
Raven oversees the entire show, making sure the works dont set the forest on fire. He also hands out flashing sparklers, and small spinners to the performers who dance around the crowd watching the show, and waving the colored fireworks around.
The finally is a multiple explosion of multicolored bursts which hail down colored magical balls, and floating bubbles down on the viewing crowd. The children have seen these before and eagerly rush after the bouncing balls, recognising them as the same cantrip toys the white wizard would create for them.

Diedra stood and smiled to Araon. She hugged him tightly in return and stepped back to look at him. "It has been a long time. And I have been fine. And I can see that you are doing very well as well." She smiles and looks at him again. "Wow. Look at you. The mayor. Wow. I think this job will suit you well. And I know you shall have the best of Elmshade in mind at all times. I think that's quite a bit of worrying, don't you?" She smiles and then kneels down again next to the children. "Oh, these three wanted to see there uncle Araon. So I brought them to the festival. I don't know where Mar is. He said he'd meet me here. I wonder where he could be?" She looked up to Araon and smiled and stood. "Araon, could you be a love, and watch the children for a moment. I have to try and get a hold of my husband." She smiled and waited for an answer.

Araon smiles and just listens to her. "Why thank you for all those compliments and of course I would be honored to watch the little ones so you can find their daddy."  Araon smiles and hugs Diedra once more then kneels down in front of the triplets and rubs each ones' tummy.  "Well hello little darlings of happiness and joy, how are you three doing today?  You are all hungery arent you?  Well its good to have an appetite, but not too big of one, we all want to keep in shape dont we?"  He chuckles a bit.  "Hey your uncle Araon has presents for each and everyone of you... But... you cant have them now, you have to wait until your all grown up."

Arienne smiled and nodded at the mental greeting from Lita. Then she hugged Araon back with warmth and agreed to bring something edible to his feast. After making sure the new mayor was busy with his greetings, the elven sorceress wandered the edges of the crowd, just taking in the sights and enjoying the relaxing atmosphere. It was indeed good to get out of her tower, if only for a brief respite. There were many thoughts circling in the mage's head as she slowly walked around, smiling and waving every now and then to those she knew. To think that their small village had grown to the point where a mayor had already been elected...she shook her head with a wistful smile. Things tended to change so fast with the humans. Growth happened so much quicker with their kind. She watched the fireworks for a short time, then quietly slipped away, back to the sanctity and solitude of her tower. Arienne didn't much care for change. It was a constant of the universe, and she accepted that. But it didn't mean she had to like it.

Mathyas stood, leaning against a wall, watching the fireworks. What is beginning to become known as his trademark pipe was stuck in his mouth as he watches the festivities. He stood silently, watching, making sure no one decided to ruin this delightful occasion.

He did manage to catch the new mayor's speech however, which prompted him, as soon as he got a chance to take a break, to seek out the new mayor with his two comrades and pay their respects to their new boss.

Once their break did come he gathered his two friends...The ever present Roland and Marcus to begin to query the whereabouts of the new mayor. The markings of the Elmshade guard on their clothes were a clear indicator as to why they were seeking him...With the assurance that it was merely to pay their respects to their new authority.

Lita could sence Diedra's need to contact Marsala.  She excused herself from her new husband and walked over to her.  " Sis, I don't think you will reach him.  He has closed me off as well.  I can feel he is troubled, but calm.  That is all I can feel.  He is not responding to my mental messages either.  Do you think he is ok?  Dear.... look at the time.  I better get home if I am going to have my dinners ready for the feast.  Contact me sis if you find him pls."  She says as Spark walks up behind her and with a blink, they are gone.

Diedra watches Lita head for home and then she tries to send another mental message to her husband.
"Mar, where are you? You were supposed to be here a while ago" Diedra sends in her message.
A few minutes pass and Diedra thinks it's going to be another futile attempt. Suddenly a familiar voice answers her call.
"In answer to your first question, I'm here at home," he replied.
"But what about the festival? You know, fun, fireworks, congratulaing the new mayor?"
"That was always your intentions, Diedra, not mine." Marsala said.
Diedra frowns a little. "You stay right there...the kids and I will dropping by in a flash."
Grabbing a hold of the stroller real tight and making sure the triplets were safely secured, Diedra transported them all home. She pushed the stroller into the house and got the kids into their playpen.
Marsala is leaning on the back porch's railing, just looking out into the forest. He can feel his wife's presence drawing nearer until her arms wrap around his waist.
"What is it, my love? I thought we had agreed to make the festival a family outing." Diedra said.
"Ah, yes, the festival...a grand display of excess and a lovefest for a mortal man. The Trinity probably spared little expense in throwing this extravanganza and I'm sure Araon has more magical gifts to add to his collection." Marsala replied.
"I'm sure a lot of money was spent on the festival and Araon did get some gifts but why should that bother you?" his wife answered.
"Because no mortal is worth that amount of grandeur, it should be saved for the gods. The money that was spent on friviolity could have been put to better use. You want to know where I was today?" the paladin asked.
"Sure, what did you do today?" Diedra said.
"I delivered food to those who don't have enough to eat, I made sure families had clothing and supplies to help them survive another day, I helped a man build a little shanty so his family could have shelter." Marsala said. "I helped Jericho pack up the few remains of his life here so he could go to Talon Falls to start anew. I talked with a man who sought my advice and possible help in fighting a war against evil in Zoar. I helped deliver a child because the parents were too poor to seek help in town. And I buried the mother because complications arose that I was unable to cure."
Diedra stands silent at her husband's words.
"Evil is prevalent around ES and yet the town parties. Others are going without, yet the powers that be flush money into a festival featuring a travelling circus so the new mayor can feel like a king. Elmshade has changed, Diedra...it's not the quiet little town where I fell in love with you and wanted to raise a family. I don't know Elmshade any more, nor do I know the people. That is what's bothering me."

The festival continues on into the night, only changing to a different form so some of the locals can gets sleep. Trebleo, the troupe leader walks around the village checking up on his band of merry men, and nods smiling to them all, pleased with their works and performances. The performers have quieted things down, and gone to playing dice, and card games. Fortune telling, tall tales, and even magical tricks and illusions provide the nights entertainment... and keeps thing more quiet around the sleepy village.
At the Twisted Root tavern however things are as loud as ever. Avon the tavern bard is working overtime tonight, but at least has some accompanyment this evening with a couple friendly performers playing their instruments along with him. Jarlosh and Holga rush around franticly trying to keep up with the many orders of the packed tavern. It seems everyone in the place is either very drunk, or very much on their way to that situation this evening. Telling tales of the days festivities, gambling away the last of thier coins, or dancing the night away... however they accomplish it, the locals of Elmshade party hard this evening.
Raven and Trebleo often meet each other while walking the roads of the village, and stop to have a friendly chat with one another. For anyone watching them it seems the white wizard knows the elven minstrel quite well, as they laugh and talk to each other in an elven tongue.

Tessa had managed to slip away as Captain Steele was taking care of business. She had heard the sounds of celebration going on nearby and she was delighted to see that traveling performers had come to town to celebrate the mayor's election. With a sweet smile, she joined in the fun, dancing with several of the performers and even once with the elven bard that was so enchanting! Her beautiful face was flushed with the exertion and excitement of the moment and she had completely forgotten about Mathyas, having a wonderful time with the locals. She clapped at the songs and the fireworks, feeling almost a part of the small community. It was truly a strange and new experience for Madame Beauchamps. She had never really 'mingled' with the locals, and although she still thought herself quite above most of them, she had to admit that they made her smile.

The next morning the market is buzzing with activity. The merchants had brought out their full stocks for sale during the festival. Even traveling merchants, and gypsies got in on the action. Selling their wares, peddling trinkets, and telling a fortune or two. The locals wives were everywhere chatting and enjoying the few performers that  dotted the market, peforming tricks and playing songs. The men and most of the performers were still sleeping this early, having stayed up pretty late last night.
The performers leader was here as well, pouring on the charm of his elven heritage. Trebleo is an elven male, dressed in the brightly flashy cloths of a bard. His mannerisms are noble and kind to all he meets and hes quick with a funny joke, or a cheery song. He always seems on the move as well, watching over the performances and collecting the gold as he went.
Today was the first full day of festivities, and Trebleo had a lot to plan. He mingled shortly with the merchants, and local wives... having to make them swoon at least once today. Margeret O'Connel passed clean out when he was finished with the short love song. The other women were so enthralled it took a full minute after Trebleo left before anyone noticed her on the ground. Trebleo then went to his Varde to make out the days festivities schedule, he was always excited about this part as he immediatly went to his desk on entering. He didnt even notice the dark figure come stepping up behind him as he scribbled in his book.

There is a loud .. "AAAHHHH!!!!" .. comming from Trebleos Varda, followed by a shrill laughter. "Hahaha! I got ya!" Then there is a shuffling sound as the varda rocks, and the side door flies open. A small figure runns out 20 feet from the door and turns around, still laughing. The figure is a small and childlike. Dressed in white and blue cloths, and wearing embossed blue leathers over that. A small brimmed hat and a large pheasant feather sticking out from the side. The hat had a hole cut out of the top to allow for a puffy, beaded topknot to bounce wildly on top. He over all looked like a small 7 year old human child, if it wasnt for the pointed ears under his hat. Peppin jumped up and down laughing wildly at the elven minstrel looking out at him. "Boy I scared you good! Hahaha!"
Trebleo looks to the mischevouse kender with a scowl.. "There has got to be better things for you to do around here besides scarin the wits out of me. Ive got work to do, now go and explore somewhere."
Peppin nods as he looks around outside.. "Ok. I'll leave ya alone. I heard there were some neat ruins around here anyhow. See ya later Trebleo." With that said the spry kender takes off tward the village, determined to get into as much trouble as he possibly can.
Trebleo shakes his head as he goes back inside the Varda. "Kenders... sheesh!"

After several days of festivities, Trebleo and his troupe break camp and begin to leave for the next destination. Trebleo publicly thanks the locals in the the Market for their generosity, and warm welcolm. "I promise one day BardFest shall return, and party with the people of Elmshade once again!" The crowd claps and cheers as Trebleo and his band bow their thanks. Even Stormcrow makes a short visit before the bards leave. Shaking hands and speaking with Trebloe, and bidding farewell to the rest of the performers.
By mid-day the troup is far down the Elmshade caravan route, headed for another festival.
