To all Elmshade Village Members,

Thank you for taking the time to join this community.  After you join we would ask that you also take the time to do a few things.  Please abide by the site rules so that everyone can have fun! Thanks! :)

1) Any new members are encouraged to go to the Friends/Family link and post their character's profile there.  The only people who NEED to know your character(s)' stats are a member of management and any DM whose thread you wish to join - stats are NOT required to be listed on your Friends/Family profile.   However, please be sure to include at least name, race, level(s) and gender of your character(s).  Pictures are also encouraged.

2) Please post your arrival to Elmshade on the General message board.  You may find a place to stay (live) here, or you may stay elsewhere and just 'visit' Elmshade.  Please be sure to contact the local residents somehow to let someone know of your arrival.

3) Start joining in the posts! If you are a wizard, seek out Arienne. If you are a cleric, visit Siannodell at the temple. You get the idea.

4) Try to read as many message boards as possible.  It helps your characters to know and learn of current events.

5) Visit often. There are daily revisions on the boards.
Thanks for reading and joining, and we look forward to seeing participation from everyone!

An additional note :

Remember that we are all here to have FUN.

The Most Important Rules are as follows:

1)  Keep the cursing and sex content down...or in foreign languages when you must.

2)  Please observe the different types of threads and post appropriately.
OOC = Out of Character
MT = Moderated Thread
NT = Narrative Thread
OT = Open Thread (anyone may join and post)
CT = Closed Thread (post by invitation only)

3)  Both Free-form and Moderated Characters are welcome here. Be aware that Free-form characters (i.e. those who are created from scratch, not rolled, who have levels,  items, weapons, stats, etc. that were not earned through game play) should only be used in NTs or on the General Board. Both Good and Evil characters are accepted here, but no Evil characters are allowed anywhere except in a MT or NT, the Sparring Arenas and the Ruins.

4)  If you would like to try DMing or running a game, please inform one of the members of management FIRST, so that we can be sure it won't disrupt anything! Chances are, we'll okay it and you'll be set, but the management likes to be aware of ANY MTs that will be taking place here BEFORE they actually occur. Please post any Moderated Games on the Moderated Games Board.

5)  Please refrain from using overly-powerful God-like characters here. The high-level, powerful characters and NPCs that are already here have for the most part earned their levels through play here. This means, in simple terms, that munchkins, twinks, power-gamers or moders are neither appreciated nor tolerated. This also means that 3rd or 3.5 edition created characters are usually not going to fit in well here. Thanks in advance for abiding by this.

6) Keep in mind, this is a roleplaying site involving written posts.  A well written post is a joy to read.  If your spelling and vocabulary could use improvement, try www.dictionary.com. It can help you.

7)  If you need help or have questions, please feel free to contact management. Their in-boxes are always open!
