Shield of Strength [email protected] | The Northern Mines of Elmshade are small compared to most, but are still considered important. Things usually are very easy and laid back at the mines, but that all changes when the miners report an eerie sound coming from within the mine. Afraid of either ghosts or demons, the miners now refuse to enter the mines. The overseer of the mine is furious. The delay in operations will cause concern for those appointed over him. Not wanting to have others tell him how to operate his mine, the overseer finds warriors willing to investigate, and instructs them to find out where the eerier sound is coming from and destroy it. | INFORMATION PAGE

Shield of Strength | With the mace remaining on the table, it becons the cleric to take it from its mantel and feel the holy power within it. Beatrix continues to sing the song that lights the ancient runes, and Jorrod's tattoos. Isamu listens at the door for any sound. When he does, shiver runs down his spine as the familiar clicking and poping of bones can be heard. Even more than before, Isamu knows more skeletons await behind the door. | Maps

Jarrod smiles broadly at the site of his Lord on the mace. The cleric moves over to the holy weapon and grasps it with two hands, lifting it off the ground and feeling its power flowing through him. " Torm is strong within me. I shall slay all those unholy opponents of His might. Open the door Isamu, let any evil come my way," he says, feeling confident in his abilities as a servant of Torm. He awaits the opening of the next door. | .

Before Beatrix can open the door she sees Isamu move to the side of the door and listen for anything coming. She moves over next to Isamu and while continuing the song as softly as she dares makes questioning motions to try to communicate with Isamu to ask him if he heard anything with out talking, which would break the song. |

Isamu points to the skeletons they had already disposed of when he sees Beatrix's signals. The weapon master then looks to the priest, who wields a newly acquired weapon, urging him to open the door so he might bring his gods' justice to the undead beyond. Personally, Isamu wouldn't use anything in this place unless he had no choice for fear of it being ensorcelled. Very bad things could happen to one who wielded a cursed item. But the priest had made his choice and picked the item up; there was no turning back now. What ever the consequence of picking the weapon up was, it had now taken effect, good or ill. Shrugging, Isamu attempts to open the door and stands back with weapons up (defensive stance), allowing the priest room to charge on in. | HP: 48/80

Shield of Strength | When Jarrod takes hold of the holy weapon, it's three pronged head beggins to spin rapidly. Blue-green sparks form a glowing light the encompases the head of the mace, and lights the entire room brighter thatn before. " Torm is strong within me. I shall slay all those unholy opponents of His might. Open the door Isamu, let any evil come my way," Jarrod says to the warrior. Through years of training, and fighting together, the warriors have developed a simple language that is used when silence in nessesary. Today, that training come in handy when Beatrix attempts to question Isamu without interuptin her song. With such an easy question, Isamu immediatly understands what she wants to know, and answers her in the same silent manner. After indicating to Beatrix what lays ahead, Isamu pushes the door open at Jarrods request. When the door is opened, the light from the mace reveals that Isamu was correct in his assumption of what they are about to face. | Maps

Beatrix is getting real pissed off at these dammed skeletons. She vents her anger by drawing her Sais and charging the robed skeleton while yelling at the top of her lungs, “Stay dead this time!” HP 50/50 |

Jarrod grins as the skeletons push forth, and he almost doesn't feel the pain as his zeal pushes forth. He raises the newfound mace and calls out to the evil undead. " Meet your doom, vile creatures! Torm brings his wrath, sending it through my body! Begone!" he calls out, swinging the new mace at the advancing skeletons. | .

(Initiative: 1) Isamu wades in behind the other two as they charge into battle. Seeing Beatrix charge in ahead, Isamu simply shakes his head and follows her so she doesn't get herself surrounded. Women were so different in these lands. Once he is sure he is near enough to her to prevent her being attacked from all sides, Isamu grips his blades and takes on the first enemy that comes near him. Katana attack 1: 13 to hit, 4+11=15 damage Wakizashi attack 1: 6 to hit, 4+8=12 damage Katana attack 2: 11 to hit, 9+11=20 damage | HP: 48/80

Shield of Strength | Combat Round 2 | Beatrix is the first to charge into the room as she focuses her attention and efforts towrds the skeleton with the robes on. As she does she stops singing to let out a warcry. This causes the light from the ancient runes to fall into darkness, as does Jarrod's tatoo's. The mace the was so animated by the magical field also goes dark leaving both rooms in complete darkness. Beatrix immediately uses her training in darkness to find the skelecton. The snapping and popping of bones come from all around her, making it difficult to find the skelecton mage among the skelecton fighters. As she closes in on him, she fells the sharp blade of the sabre slice across her right arm. (Betrix: -5 hp) Ignoring the pain, she does her best to attack the skelecton mage. Her fist attack lands true dispite all of the obsticals, but her second bouces off of a shield with such a force that the sia flies out of her hand. I clangs against the stone floor behind her, near many more clicking and poping bones. (Beatrix: lost one weapon) Jarrod loses the poweful feeling from the mace when Beatrix ends her song, and charges the skeleton mage. His body still tingles a bit, and the cleric's faith fills him with figor. He too charges the skeletons with his new found mace. the mace seems perfectly balanced for Jarrod. His attack lands directly on the skelecton dispite the darkness. Isamu simply waits for Beatrix and Jarrod to charge, and prodives security to the rear. He uses him mighty katana to begin clearing the room of the skeleton fighters. His skills in both the sword and darkness is used to strike blindly at the skelecton. The katana lands both strike with such a force tha the skeleton falls to the ground in a pile of bones. The skeletons then attack in force on Jarrod. One passes by Isamu, and finds itself in on the floor as the weapon master takes the opputunity given to him by the skelecton. (attack of oppurtunity) Two other skelectons press their attack on Jarrod successfully. One from the from, and one from the side. Both strick the cleric. Jarrod feels the sharp sword pierce his burnt body. (Jarrod: -5 hp) Then again from the front. The next skelecton's sword strike the cleric's side. (Jarod -6 hp) Beatrix is more successful in dodging the skelectons attacks. She is completely missed by the fighter trying to attack her. The skelecton mage moves behind its fighter, but no magic is used. | | Maps

(Initiative: 9) Isamu listens to the battle around him to try to figure out which of his two companions is fairing better against the new undead (if light comes back on, he will use vision to determine this instead.) Whoever is fairing worse he will move to help, attacking the target he thinks is the biggest threat to that companion first. This would probably be Beatrix as Isamu doesn't think much of women warriors in the first place as well as the fact that since he distrusts magic, he considers the mage a bigger threat than the warriors. Katana attack 1: 20 to hit, 7+11=18 damage Wakizashi attack 1: 5 to hit, 5+8=13 damage | HP: 48/80

Jarrod turns to Beatrix.
" Keep singing! Keep singing!", he calls out, bringing his mace up to defend himself and then lash out at the baddies before them.
