Blue!  We just finished our annual cookie-baking and candy-making jamboree!  We started at 7:30 last Thursday morning and we finished earlier than we ever have, at about 2:15 on Saturday.  We made 25 kinds of cookies and 9 kinds of candy.  We had 26 kinds of cookies on the list and 10 kinds of candy, but we had to forego the cookie press cookies this year...and make a run to the emergency room, instead.  My sister, who is a master baker and does all the mixing with her Kitchen Aid stand mixer, and has been doing this all her life - breaking her eggs into a pyrex ramiken...dropped the ramiken (it slipped out of her hand) into the mixing bowl while the mixer was running and it broke the bowl...and she cut her finger.  To make a long story short, she and Mom spent 2 hrs at the Texas Med Clinic getting stitches...and I pressed on with pride while they were gone...after tossing the batch with the broken bown and cleaning up, I baked 4 batches of cookies we already had mixed up in the fridge.  She was able to continue mixing with the mixer (and a plastic bowl for breaking eggs!) starting on Friday morning, but we couldn't do anything that required her to put much pressure on that hand.  I don't usually get that involved in the actual baking, but I had to do all the drop cookies this year, because we use a cookie scoop, and she couldn't squeeze it.

I wish I'd had this recipe before our baking, I'm sure we'd have tried it.  We may have to make a batch of these in January...or at least soon!  Macaroons are one of our favorites...and we didn't make any this year.
