Gina~ I agree. GO BACK TO BED! It'll buoy you up for later. I hope DD gets the job! Freckles~ How'd the bleach mess go? Anna~ Sorry about DS. It's a story I wish I weren't familiar with. Jer has 12 missing assignments in Algebra...and he can't figure out why in the world he has an F. GRRRR!!!!
Today was "Walk your kids to school day". So, the dog and I walked them. They usually ride the bus but it's not due to distance. They'd have to cross a busy highway otherwise. It was 35 degrees hen we started out. BRRRRR! My nose still won't stop running and now my ears are burning. We broke the dogs power steering collar too so she pretty much dragged me all the way there and back. UGH!
Ended up getting a lot done yesterday after the bath. Gonna try that again today. I'd really rather just go to bed. Must be something in the air!

Well, it's three hours later. Noon by Mtn Stand. time and I'm finally moving. Had a largely unsuccessful nap. Kept waking up even though I haven't slept well in a week. Maybe I just have too much to do. Really wanted to run some more errands and get my eyebrows waxed (I keep trying to do them myself and despite all my art training, I am NO good at it!!), but after checking the checking account, I think I'll wait until payday....tomorrow. lol
So, I'm through the tub, washed my hair and scrubbed my body trying to get the blood pumping to wake me up. Gonna turn on some classic rock and crank it up too. Hopefully the combined effort will help.
my list:
bump laundry several times 15 minutes in basement storage room 15 minutes in kitchen hall coat closet (about 1.5 hrs) start dinner (chicken pot pie) have kids gather and pa laundry have boys mow lawns homework eat dinner Family pick-up BED!

Freckles~ After the kind of day you had, I think you deserve to sit and watch an NHL game....or two!
Well, I completely underestimated the amount of time it took to clean that closet. It's HUGE and was packed FULL! I found school papers and teacher's notes dating from 2005. Do you think it's too late to "sign and return"?? UGH! Wondering if 2005 was the last time I felt well enough to tear it apart and heavy duty clean. That said, IT'S DONE DONE DONE!!!!!!! It looks so good that for the first time in years I want the closet doors to be left open. Of course you don't risk life and limb every time you open it either.
Now, on to dinner. It's 5:30 and I don't have a clue what to feed the kids. Too late for chicken pot pie. Ramen, anyone?

Oh, 14yo DS walked in from school and I had a Metallica song blaring as I cleaned the closet. I thought he was going to die of shock!! He just stood in the doorway staring at me like I was some sort of alien creature. I'm a classical music lover an about as hard as I geberally get is 80's pop and country western. I guess he hadn't seen the hardened side of me before.
Now, every time he walks past me he gives me a strange look as if he expects lobsters to crawl out my ears or something. bahahaha

that is too funny toni.. lol.. my kids probably all think I'm weird.. lol.. if u do anything out of the ordinary they give me a goofy look & I'm thinking, you'll have kids one day.. lol.. good job on the closet.. i have one like that I need to tackle.. ummm maybe 2 like that.. ick ick ick well, I never did get my list posted.. got busy typing & I did get 1069 lines today and that is with putting away a load of towels, load of whites, cooking supper, making beds, washing dishes, numerous phone calls, watering flowers, looking for noahs glasses.. uggh (found them) and biting my lip to not lose my cool with my dd.. just tell me is this the life or what??? Get up, shower, go for an interview for a job, pick up a few things at walmart for me, come home put pjs back on, eat, lay on couch for 2.5 hours & watch tv all snuggled up in a comforter, get up go to your bedroom & sleep for another 2 hours, come down stairs, eat supper, then go and watch tv on the couch all snuggled up in a comforter & still doing it.. hmmmmm ... she is gonna have a RUDE awakening when she moves out.. & I'm gonna say "I TOLD U SO!!!!!" I really don't have time to constantly say kelc go do the dishes, kelc go clean the bathroom, etc.. by the time I do that very many times, I am losing work time.. so, one of these days I'm gonna come up with a plan.. just haven't done it yet.. geez.. okay, sorry for rambling.. gonna get my bath & relax, return some phone calls, fix coffee pot & then off to bed, cya all tomorrow~ have a great nites sleep~ God Bless ~ gina |

Gina~
My piano students reminded me of something yesterday. For the first time in months they were completely prepared and passed off all their songs. Some songs they'd had ALL SUMMER!! I was ready to wring their necks...and truly considered dropping them. I asked the 12 yo (the other is 8) what the difference was.
They said their dad and step-mom (who is AWESOME!!) created a new chore plan. Each day they have one chore, piano practicing, and clean their bedroom. Once they do those, if they want to earn any money, they can do a chore off the "Extra chore list". There is no allowance. Only extra chores they can do for money. What a motivator for kids of all ages!!
Each chore is assigned a monetary value, $.50-$5 depending on the chore, and includes things like dusting, vacuuming, washing the dog, mowing/raking the lawn, cleaning the tub/floor, etc. They have a new baby at their house and she put the things on the list she can't get to as often as she'd like.
Before they can do a chore for money, they have to have their room clean, homework, practicing, and chores done and it has to be approved by a parent as some chores can only be done once a week or so.
Anyway, I remember doing something similar to that years ago and it worked GREAT with my kids. I thought I would try it again. Being that you're now a "working mom" (because we know moms without jobs don't work. bahahaha) it might help you get things done. Just a thought....as it was on my mind again tonight anyway.

thanks toni ~ right now just finding the time to sit down & make a list is hard.. any list, Christmas, cleaning, grocery, etc. but that may work, she still has to drive our car, our gas, etc, cause she isn't working at all right now.. praying she gets this job they did the interviews yesterday, not sure when they will call or when they are hiring, the wait is not a good thing, I'm not a very patient person as you can see.. lol.. How many times have I been told that about ... moms without jobs.. even when I was cleaning 4 or 5 houses & my own, kids were younger, so more to do that way as well, & then dh of all people would say you need a "real" job.. geez how more REAL can it get..only difference is we just don't get paid MONEY for it.. lol.. sad but it is true.. oh well, I best move on to a Thursday post.. lol. cya later ~gina |

WTG on the lines Gina!!!
Yes don't you wish you could snuggle up all
day in front of the t.v. or with a book? LOL...
When we do it cause we're fighting a bug or
something it is like a treat from heaven. She will learn.
Toni that is too funny about the Metallica
song and your ds.
WTG on your closet. They take huge
amounts of time and of course you have to stick with it cause half the things
out of the closet for days on end is a nightmare. I need to do the one in
the bedroom and dh has to tear it apart and build me the supports for those wire
baskets I bought years ago...
Why can't they have walk your kid to school
days in nice weather? When ds was in elementary school it was either a
freezing cold day or a blizzard...
