Ds was off yesterday morning to an
open house at Carleton University. I laughed when he told me the lectures
he went to...not a one of them to do with political science.
The speaker (African studies) was very
exciting and went on and on about the benefits of a gap year. Take a year
off, go to Africa, work and volunteer. Then go to N.Y. and work for the
U.N. awhile and University will be much better that year later with all that
experience.
Of course ds came home pumped and I just
wanted to shoot the guy who held that lecture at the University. Welcome to the
real world ds....
Bil dropped by to pick up some wood
etc.
Mom called and needed to get out of the
house. She took a hit in the stock market and needed to get out and
about.
Went out to lunch at a Thai restaurant we
had never tried before... We were going to some store and just popped in
on the way. Delicious food!
We ended up at Nicastro's. It's a
lovely Italian food market. Mom thought she could get me the pasta machine
I am dying for but they didn't have one there. I ended up getting a nice
fresh grain fed turkey for Thanksgiving and lots and lots of other food
shopping.
Their bread is to die for. Roasted
garlic and rosemary baguette...I am still drooling...
Ds and friends were off to the haunted
pumpkin patch last night and dh drove both ways...
Ds was a little ticked as one of the lads
was hitting on the girl ds likes all night and being a real pain.
Two girls and who knows how many boys
there. Not quite the mix that usually works...lol.
The weather was beautiful and it was so nice
to get out of the house.
