Here's her explanation for how the program works:

Hi Toni!

I think it's funny that Madi was telling you about the chore system. She loves structure! Anyway, how it works is this: the girls each have 3 daily jobs. They always have to clean their room and do their piano and then I pick another job they have to do daily (right now it's either load or unload the dishwasher). They have to do these jobs before they can play, or watch TV or computer, etc... Then I created a chart of jobs that need to be done around the house and attached a dollar amount to each of them. They can do as many as they want, as often as they want, as long as their daily jobs are already done. They can't "call" jobs, instead they have to either come to Scott or I and ask if they can do that job and if no one else is already doing it, they can do it. When they're done, they have to have one of us check the job and if it's done well, they get to mark their name by that job and Scott or I initial that the job was completed. At the end of 1 week I tally up what I owe them and they get paid. This way, they still have to help around the house, but get rewarded as much as they want to do other jobs that are often overlooked because no one has time or wants to do them. I attached a copy of the spreadsheet of jobs I made if you want to see what it looks like. It seems like it will work out pretty well.

I'm glad the girls did well at piano today! Thanks for all you do for them!

Heather~

My kids are a little older and I'm not wanting to pay my kids quite as much so I adapted the list for my family. I hope I've attached the right one. :)

Thanks Toni~ now that will save me some time I'll just go thru & change it to fit my house & it will make it easier on me.. I may print it out, put it in a plastic sleeve & then use one of those wipe-off markers & that way I can reuse the same sheet over & over.. I think that will work.. okay, I'm off to work on my list before more work pops up..

After talking to a friend I made a few last adjustments. This is the last time....today. lol Hopefully it will make things run more smoothly.

I like the idea of putting it in a plastic sleeve, Gina!
