Good Morning!

Survived PTC or SEP, whatever they call it now, last night. It was more positive than I've had in years. Really encouraging. Our 6th grade teacher is much more competent than 5th. HOORAY!

Monday I started cleaning the office. The pocket door from here into the kitchen (this area is really a formal dining room, but we use it as the office) was stuck closed so I had to walk all the way around the main level into the kitchen. I HATED it! Now its stuck open and the flow is much better. I keep it more clean this way. HOORAY!

Today I need to:

-Shower, D2S, and all that jazz
-load dw
-kids fed/chores done/rooms tidied/out the door
-Continued tidy in office I Can SEE MY DESK!! WOOHOOO!!!
-Mop floor and vacuum in basement
-laundry laundry laundry WHERE DOES IT ALL COME FROM???
-Bedroom tidy
-vacuum stairs and hall
-Make bran muffins
-get dinner started Bacon/Potato soup or chicken enchiladas
-kids started on homework/reading
-piano lessons

I can tell you how I do it. I haven't used a recipe for it in years.

-Brown one pkg of bacon in the bottom of your soup pan.
-set bacon aside and make into bits.
-Keep about 2T bacon grease in bottom of pan w/the other bacon gunk.
-Add 1 chopped onion to grease and brown (can also add celery or carrots, or other firm veggies)
-Add 2T flour to create a rue
-Gradually Add about 8 cups beef stock. Stirring to keep it from glubbing up.
-Slice or chunk about 6-8 potatoes and add to pot
-boil potatoes until al dente
-turn off heat and let cool for about 30-45 minutes
-pour off 2-3 cups of soup and gradually add 2 cups sour cream and 3 eggs
-Very slowly stir cream mixture into the pot. If your soup is too hot the eggs willl clump up. Otherwise they'll cook slowly, but you won't see remnants.
-add bacon bits.

-After this you can simmer, but don't boil or your eggs will clump. This is my favorite "day after" soup! Sometimes I add other veggies and garlic. Other times it's just the bacon and potatoes.

Don't really remember what I did today...
*dh up, ate, dressed, bring me coffee, make lunch, pack car, off to work
*ds up, work on essay, eat, shower, dress, off to school late
*me coffee, get up on pc to show ds what he left undone last night, put his bibliography in alphabetical order so he could take a shower
Printing out the essay in best mode took 45 mins so he did not have time to print the second copy.  I printed it in draft which took less than 5 mins and took it over to the school for him.  Dropped it off in a manilla file folder with his name on it.  They were supppose to call him after first period to pick it up on way to class it was due in.  THEY DID NOT CALL HIM, HE WENT TO OFFICE TO PICK IT UP AND THEY SAID NO I HAD NOT DROPPED IT OFF!!!  So he calls me, I talk to the blasted idiot of a woman and they told me I was not there...geesh....  Eventually ds says they found it...  I just love dropping important things off for him that they lose.
*yack with Mom on phone and she pissed me off too...lol
*talked to gf on im
*change mbed linens
*empty and pa dishwasher
*fool around with Christmas cards
*long hot bath with lovely products, nice close shave and moisturize heck out of my body.  Had to get out of bath to answer phone but otherwise was a nice relaxing retreat
*about 3 or so loads laundry
*make stew for supper
*nap after supper then watch mindless t.v.

Gotta flip laundry, turn on dishwasher which is preloaded, make coffee and set out dh bowl mug etc and um feed animals.

Soup sounds really good Toni.
