....about my daughters room. I have two daughters 8 and 10, they share a room. We like to call it the pit around here. I have been thinking that since the girls never really spend time in their rooms lately, other then to change clothes, that maybe they should be reduced down to very little things in thier room. They both have toys, game boys, books, etc. But they never play with them. At this point, I am thinking that all the books could go and just get on a routine of taking them to the library to borrow books every two weeks. As far as toys go, well they dont play with them, they just pile up and I honestly dont think they even want to play with them anymore. I have been doing a major cleanup of their room about every three weeks and arrange things so they can see them again but it doesnt hold thier interest. I am thinking that I should take all the "toys" away. I would love to set up a scrapbooking area for both of them in thier room, but there isnt the space with all the toys. I always think that when the weekend comes i will have the chance to work on this but I think that I should just realize that it will either get done if I do 15 min a day on it or wait until summer, when they are away to do it. I am so impatient. what do you think?
Nala

Hey lady if your in the mood to get started on it.. GO NALA GO!!! I think doing the scrapbook area for both of them is a GREAT idea! We have to get noahs room completely mucked out before dh's vacation, closet & all BECAUSE..... his last plan was to box the door up & tear noahs entire room/closet off the house & put new foundation under it & re-build it back, only we will take the back door out of his room & it will have insulation in the walls (something they didn't do before) & he's putting up sheetrock walls instead of paneling.. What they did when they made noahs room part of the house, it used to be a back porch, those overlapping boards, they just stuck that black paper stuff up & slapped some paneling over top.. so no wonder his room is sooooo cold in winter... geez.. so I have major cleanup to do before the end of june.. I'll push you if you'll push me... P.U.S.H.--- PRAY UNTIL SOMETHING HAPPENS... (lol)I'll pray it just gets done without me having to touch it... ROFLOL! but seriously, we can work on this together if you wanna! gina

Nala I always find that 15 mins a day starts it off well but I need big chunks of time to finish it off (if it ever gets finished...)

Hey,
Ok, so my older three children are away now. The girls will not be back until the 18th of this month. I went into their room yesterday and cleaned out half of the closet. Their room has a theme of purple and sage. Well it is what I picked out for their bedspreads, their bedspreads are the same. I have been thinking for most of the night and today about what thier room could look like. I have gotten rid of a lot of their stuff in the last month or so. But they dont like spending time in their room at all. They use it primarliy for sleeping.

So i have some thoughts about how to rearrange their room and add some newer things. I think a table for scrapbooking or crafts is a great idea. I would have to have it so they could both sit at it, I have a thought process on that already. I also think that adding some simple paint and their names, and flowers in the purple on some of thier furniture would be fun. Since we live in an apt I cant paint the walls. But I think if I make what they do have more feminine and pretty they will enjoy it.

I will keep you posted on what I do do.
Nala

Sounds great Nala.

When I lived in an apt I painted the walls and then just painted them back white when we left (well actually poor dh did)

When dh laid ds's new floor while we were away he took off the closet doors.  Took one look in the closet and thought oh freckles is going to want to redo that.  Well yes, smart man!  Closets drive me nuts.

My gf was over the other day so I showed it to her for some advice because it just doesn't work.  She thinks it's great and wants me to come do hers.

Where do you all get your organization ideas>
