My family loves to be outdoors - camping, fishing, swimming, etc... so I have to plan for a camping dinner  at least 2 times a month during the good weather days (spring to mid summer, late summer into late fall).  Do you any good camping recipes to share?
i'll start..i love my dutch oven and this lasgana is a big hit whenever i make it! it's so easy!
1. box of lasagna noodles
2. Bottle/can of your favorite spaghetti sauce
3. ground meat
4. Chopped onion
5. 1-2 cloves of garlic
6.  salt/pepper to taste)
6. large container of cottage cheese
7. 1/2 cup water or as much as needed
8. 2 cups shredded mozarella cheese

*note: you can precook the ground meat with onion, garlic and salt and pepper then freeze in a ziplock bag..i do this all the time. it really saves time!

ok, i have a 12in dutch oven.
if you didn't freeze a meat mixture, place your dutch oven over the correct amount of coals (i use 15) and warm up the bottom til its hot. cook ground meat, onion, and garlic and salt/pepper. remove from oven and place in a bowl or large plate.

take oven off of coals.

if you did precook the meat mix, then.....

cover the bottom of dutch over with lasagna noodles. you may have to break some..that's ok.
place a thin layer of ground meat mix, followed by some spaghetti sauce ( i just put enough to just cover the meat) followed by a thin layer of cottage cheese, sprinkle on mozarella cheese (just enough to cover).
then begin layering again: pasta, meat, sauce, cottage cheese, mozarella cheese.

then pour about 1/2 cup of water.

set up your oven to cook at 350 (depends on the size of your oven). grab your favorite beverage and sit for about 30 - 40 minutes and relax! ahhhh!!!!

there's something about cooking in a dutch oven!

We don't do any camping here  but that sounds like a keeper, great way to do lasagna instead of the way I usually do it, I hate cooking those noodles & then placing them in baking dish etc.. this way I could put it on to cook, & go do something else for ahile.. Thanks for the recipe.. I'll probably put it over on recipes too so we don't forget about it.. dawn may have some good recipes ..... they get to go camping ever so often.. gina
