Jam Cake
1/4 lb butter or 1/2 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 eggs
2 1/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon allspice
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 cup blackberry, raspberry or strawberry jam
1/4 cup sour milk
Preheat oven to 350 d F. Butter and lightly flour 2 8�?round cake pans.
Cream the butter, add sugar and beat until light and fluffy. Add eggs and beat well. Mix together dry ingredients, add to creamed mixture and beat well. Add jam and sour milk. Spread in pans and bake approx 25 mins.
