She is the sweetest thing. She rode home very well and was happy to see me even though she did not know me. Since then she has fast become a part of the household. All day Friday while I cooked she stayed underfoot in the kitchen. She is happiest when she is close to someone. When I took a break to rest my legs she came in by the couch with me. It was hard to lay down by the couch and put her head on my lap at the same time but she tried. She gets along pretty well with my opinionated ChowChow. If there is a problem there it will be on his part not hers. So far they seem to be very relaxed with each other. Lexie loves to go outside and play in the snow. She is a bit leary of going out by herself but if I go out on the porch with her she is happy. I have seen absolutely no aggression from Lexie at all. She was leery of the crate at first but since being here she has adapted to being kenneled when I am sleeping or gone and she does not seem the least bit stressed by it. This would be a great dog for an older person who wants a companion to love and be loved back. She has plenty of love and affection and is very gentle around people. She seems to do well on a leash. When it warms up some I will walk her on it to see how she responds. She knows her sit, down and stay pretty well. Lexie is a real sweety. Lexie's 2 week report card. I believe that Lexie would make the perfect apartment dog. She is extremely quiet in the house, low keyed and well behaved. She has adapted to my silly shift work schedule and seems content to wait till she is let out to potty. She's never had an accident in the house. I have had her here now since Dec 23rd and I have not heard her bark once. Even with people coming in and out over the Holidays, no barking. I sleep during the day and shes not had a problem with letting me sleep, so I think this would be the perfect dog for someone who works shift work or lives in an apartment or is older with less time or energy for the more active younger dog. Lexie would also do well with a home full of kids that wanted dog kisses and hugs. She loves to play ball and has pretty good recall but I have not tried her out of the fenced in yard. I would bet that if she had a short walk once or twice a day she'd be happy as a lark. Ideal situation would be a fenced in yard for any dog but I think this one would do well just being taken out to go potty. Even with the fenced in yard and the freedom she has, when we go out, as soon as she is done she watches me and if I start for the house she beats me there. Lexie is kenneled in a large crate when I am gone from the house. The door to this crate is left open when I am home and more times than not, when I go to check on her she will be in her kennel chewing on a toy or napping. Lexie is the perfect dog.
