Magic has allergies to corn, wheat and oatmeal and the gluten in them. I started home cooking with supplements for her when she was a year old to try to keep her from chewing her feet raw. We'd tried every salve known to man and my vet and I went through a lot of different tests and allergy meds until we came across just what was bothering her. She is also allergic to St Augustine grass pollen and palm tree pollen and air borne mold spoors. (I live in Florida for six months). So rather than add insult to injury I stopped feeding her commercially manufactured dog food. Along with that, I also give acidophilus daily in her food. She has shown a great deal of progress and has no sign of her allergies. Her weight is excellent and her blood pannel is very good. If any of you feed home cooking or raw diet I'd like to discuss how you supplement your dog's diet. I have been giving a multi vitamin that contains calcium and phosphorus along with the vitamins needed for a healthy dog. But the tablets I crush into her food do contain some wheat and I'd like to erase that from her diet completely.
Thanks in advance for any information you can give.
