Looking out the back dinning room door.  I know it's dirty, but I bet it still looks good to those of you sick of snow.  It was about 80 a couple days ago when I made this.  Last night we had some rain, and it turned cooler.  By tomorrow it will be warm again.

December was great here.  Above average temperatures and no snow.  No snow for Christmas, which didn't bother me in the least.  This unusual weather continued through the first couple weeks of January.  After that it was over.  We haven't had as much snow as we have cold temperatures.  The pipes in what is now our storeroom bathroom froze up.  I went in there one morning to get pellets for the stove and I heard water running.  It was hot water and it was running in the shower stall.  Unfortunately, the shower stall was full of boxes and the water started running onto the bathroom floor.  Had to drag all the wet boxes outside in the cold and try to mop up the bathroom the best I could before the guy got here to fix the faucet.  Luckily it was a minor repair but what a mess.  I was not a happy camper.  Ended up trading in my small pellet stove on the biggest one I could get.  That poor little stove couldn't keep this house warm.  They installed the big guy last Wednesday and I love it.  Really heats up the house.

My yard has turned into a nature center.  Not a lot of snow and I hope it continues that way because I snow blow a large area for those crazy turkeys to eat their corn.  Seems like after we got that freezing rain about three weeks ago, I started to get deer in my back yard along with the turkeys.  Now that they know the corn is there, I see them almost every day.  The most I have seen at one time has been nine.  Most of the time it is between two to four.  Also see a porcupine now and then at night eating leftover birdseed under my garage feeder.

These pictures were taken right after all the freezing rain.  You can see ice covering everything.  It was so cold that it took three or four days before the ice finally melted from the trees.

I definitely like your weather the best, Summerlilly.  Robin, I feel bad for you.  That's nasty stuff to get when you are used to much warmer weather.

Those pictures are both really great, Robin and Baby.  Funny how snow pictures look like they were made in black and white, isn't it?  It was freezing here last night and tonight supposed to be in the 20s.  Too cold for me!
Baby, I can't believe you had to get another stove, but I think it would take 3 or more to keep me half way warm as cold as I have been today.  I still hate to see hot weather come again.
