Don't know if you guys have been following the news but we here in upstate New York have been getting bombarded with lake effect snow off Lake Ontario the last week.  Ours started the weekend of the Super Bowl.  I had a terrible time trying to get the snowblower through the snow that stupid plow threw into my driveway.  I had to tug and pull and push and swear.  Saturday I snowblowed once.  Super Bowl Sunday I had to snowblow twice.  I have to back the snowblower into the garage passed my truck.  I don't know how I did it but the crank that moves the auger to the right and left apparently was too far to the right and put a real nice long scratch across the back panel of my truck.  I'm sure it won't be cheap to fix.  On top of that, I've got to pay around $200 to get my roof shoveled off Wednesday.  If it hasn't been snowing, it's been freezing.  Today the lake effect finally shut down after a week and we finally got into the 20's.  As of tomorrow we go back into the deep freeze starting with -10 tonight and a high of 10 tomorrow through Thursday with lows of 0 and below through Thursday.  Of course, we could get more snow from that snowstorm that is going to hit the east Tuesday evening and Wednesday.  I do thank my lucky stars that we only ended up with around 40 inches or so of snow.  Some areas to our south ended up with over 100 inches of snow.  I think Redfield got 131 inches.  What do I like about Winter?  Absolutely nothing!  On top of all the snow and freezing cold, I have to have my gall bladder taken out on the 20th because I have gall stones.

My turkeys aren't too happy with this snow either.  For a while they did more flying to get to their corn than walking.  This picture was taken over the weekend.  They are having quite a time trying to find the corn through the snow.

This was taken about a week ago.  We've had more snow since then.  Looks nice but it was pretty cold that day.  Don't think it got much above 16 degrees.

Here are pictures of some of the towns to the south of us that were hit the hardest.  Glad they like snow!

I go in as an out patient.  Doctor does the surgery and I go back home.  Went in yesterday for some preliminary tests.  I've never had any surgery other than the sinus surgery last June so I expected the day after surgery I could go back to shoveling or snowblowing if it was necessary.  Apparently not.  Hope we finally get some decent weather next week so I don't have to deal with this snow and cold for a while.

As promised, that Noreaster is hitting us now.  All the schools in our County have been closed for the day.  Looks like I will be firing up that snowblower again today.
