What do you think about liars?
What would you say was an ok thing to lie about?

: Do you think is ok to tell a white lie if it saves someones feelings?

Or do you think all lies are wrong?

Maybe you think any lie is ok if you dont get found out..... what they dont know can't hurt them ect?

Do you believe in Karma - what goes around comes around?

That how you treat people will come back on you in some way ... either in a good/bad way?

Karma - I hope that I treat people as I'd like to be treated - and I do tend to take people at their word, rightly or wrongly, some say that I am gullible...I think it's more that I'm hopeful and trusting!

I totally believe what goes around comes around, hell i screwed around on enough of my ex's and now the one person i turly care about has and still is screwing around on me!
I know exactly what his up to, i have proof but he can still sit and look me in the eye and lie his arse off, so no i don't think lieings ok, they always get caught out in the end and they just hurt others along the way!

Cem this is a really interesting topic, lies....gosh here goes...

I think that honesty is the best policy, however I will not go out of my way to hurt someone.  If a person is persistent and wants my opinion I give it in a passive way.  For example if a good friend buys an outfit and I think it is horrid I won't say it's horrid.  I would say something like, I like the color but am not fond of the style, one possitive with another negative.  If the person persists, then I tell all in a kind way.   Some would say I avoid confrontations, but it's a kindness in me which I cannot change.  Others would think that it's better to be honest right from the start, which is cool.  I just don't believe in causing someone grief unless needed.

Soooooo the Karma part, well it's abosolutely true....." What comes around goes around"...words to live by....

I think there is more to it then that.  It seems that a lot of really good souls seem to get the worst in life but some of the biggest jerks that I know have a good life.

Hay tired, sometimes the grass looks greener on the other side.  I think that "Karma" always come back to bite you in the derrier.....whether you realise it or not.

I really do not think there's any argument here... lying is wrong no matter what color you would like to paint it. People who perceive that a white lie okay because it's really skirting the edges and protecting the person from something awful, are really doing nothing but extending the lie. Eventually everyone gets found out. Oddly enough it seems that the person telling the white lie always seems to come out worse off than the person telling the grand lie in the first place.

Hi Traveler,

I certainly disagree with you, but understand where you are coming from.  Some people stretch the truth to far,

I'm talking about harmless things...what point is there to tell someone they look horrid, when you could get the same results by saying "I don't like that style on you"?

Perhaps what I am trying to communicate is that people should use tact, but always be truthful about it.

A white lie to spare someone's feelings is a good thing, but being dishonest about it, isn't a good thing.

Thanks for sharing

Cheers Rose

very tricky this one cem
i do believe its best to be generaly honest but if everyone was totally truefull 100% of the time the world would be nightmare anyone who says they don't lie is deludeing themselves imagine conversations with say a trafic warden after getting a ticket or a policeman after a speeding fine probable followed by a judge if u said wot was truthfull in your mind and lots of ppl  must have relatives /inlaws that they  only tolerate for the sake of a partner and i wonder how many ppl would be sacked if they were totaly truthfull with thier boss !!!!!So in an ideal world yes but in reality deplomacy works better
and  karma well it seems the more u try to be a good person and provide for yourself and your family  the worse off u are so unless there's an afterlife (and thats a whole different debate lol) where we r all judged i guess i don't ....
