This note is from Blaze who built the search engines for both Boutiques. I snagged this from his board at CCG. Teddie
As always a pleasure to see you on the boards. Here or on the test board. The searches will not be affected. Erin is already using the Webset Wizard to rehost the tiles in photobucket in the sets that have them hosted in MSN albums and moving them to the new Webset Board on our Permanent site. The sets on that board have the needed HTML and a special editor/export engine that makes them compatible with Ebay, Exoboard, Freewebs and many other popular forum types. We will be modifying the export engine to include many more forum types in time that are CSS dependant. Those with the webset Search buttons or links on their pages need do nothing to them but take them with them. The changeover should be completely seamless. The adder for the Webset Board on our Permanent site obviously already exists, but it is not publicly accessable yet.
The same applies to the Tag Search. All the tags in the tag Boutique will be moved to a similar board on our Permanent site and be searchable via the same link. We will also modify the posts to include exporting codes.
It is presumptive to say that our new service will be for pay. We haven't even got it built yet. We have the one test board we are working on so far. We know we will have that debugged in plenty of time to create enough boards to effectively make one big group out of the present one, but developing a secure method of hosting clusters of boards and pages (groups) so that each person has proper access and permissions to each will take some time and may cut it very close to the deadline or even necessitate those waiting on them to park their groups elsewhere until they are done.
The way groups are flocking to other forums, there may not be enough of them wanting the service to incurr a huge expense. Donations or ads may cover it. If it is massive, we may consider having free basic groups and pay for perk groups. Building and perfecting the platform comes first. Figuring out how to pay for it if it turns into a Baby Huey is a bridge we will have to cross if and when we get to it. Thanks for asking
