Resource for Uninsured and Underinsured Individuals Requiring Medical Care So many people living with chronic pain contact the National Pain Foundation asking what they can do to receive health care after they lost their insurance coverage or their jobs and have used all their resources to receive care. The NPF has found a resource for such individuals. The Actor’s Fund of America, with a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, created a database — the Artists’ Health Insurance Resource Center (AHIRC) — as a resource for artists and people in the entertainment industry. Since then, with support from The Commonwealth Fund, the AHIRC database has expanded to include resources for those requiring medical care, including - the self-employed,
- low-income workers,
- under-insured individuals,
- uninsured individuals
- union members,
- individuals with special needs, and
- more.
The online database is searchable by state and contains a range of resources categorized by individual needs (eg, resources for the disabled, individuals and families, women, children, seniors, people under 65 years of age). It also includes information about - your rights and protections under the law,
- insurance guides,
- complaints and appeals,
- medical debt, and
- universal health care.
The database is continually expanded and updated. Visit this free resource today at http://www.ahirc.org. |
