Well emm --It's funny you asked this question since I decided to give this function a try just this week.
RSS--stands for Rich Site Summary. Use of this function allows someone to have content from a website offering this function to receive updates sent to any personal or home web page you have set up. You can read this content without having to visit the site you are getting the feed from.
For instance I have Google as my home page and I have tweaked it get a lot of news from different sites available to me on my google homepage.
Aimoo has an RSS function which will export to your designated homepage, the latest discussions or threads that are active on , for example, the GFCT site on the aimoo domain. That way when your homepage opens you can swiftly see what is happening on your various sites (communities) without having to leave your homepage.
A site that offers RSS will display the button that you have shown and all you would have to do is click on that buttion and enter the link to where you want the feed delivered and the content will be sent there. Another option is to get the RSS reader and set up dedicated section or page just for feeds from other websites offering the RSS feed function.
I've heard of it but never used it. Couldn't figure it out. Easier to just go to my favs and go directly there. With all my groups splitting off in different directions, I may have to learn
All I'm getting is a red x but it doesn't matter. I've never heard of it and probably wouldn't know how to use it. Jakey likes cats and cheers siggies Emm.
I think since this could be the year for Les Habs--perhaps a siggy with the mtl canadiens logo would be great. Would it be too much trouble to use my real name(Sean)?
Thanks for this thread emm!! I always wondered what that meant! I think it would be so much easier to have all that content come to one page than have to go clicking around to see what's new.
When I get some time, I am going to try to set it up :)
last time I was a Maple Leafs fan I was watching Borje Salming, Darryl Sittler & Lanny McDonald faceoff against Guy Lafleur, Larry Robinson and Serge Savard
