Color Meditation

Healing With Colour Meditation

Different colours have long been allocated different properties. Certain colours
have been shown to have a physiological effect on the body. In this meditation,
you can use the associated benefits of particular colours to boost your immune
system and aid recovery.

This meditation is best done in a sitting position, but can also be done lying
down if preferred. Relax in your usual way, ready for meditation.

When you feel centred and ready, take one or two deep breaths, then imagine a
hole opening in the ceiling above you. Through this small hole, golden white
light comes streaming in. It pours down upon you like water. Feel the gentle,
beautiful warmth of this light, and the joy and peace which it brings you. Feel
yourself breathing in this light and energy and filling up with it. When you have
bathed in the golden light for a few moments (or whenever you feel ready), the
light will change from golden white, to whatever colour you most need for your
particular problem. Use your intuition for this, and know that whatever light you
imagine will be right... Your body and your subconscious mind know what you need.
As a general guideline, you may find the following useful:

Rose pink for skin disorders and emotional hurts
Orange for low energy, depression and a generally "drained" feeling
Green for inflamed conditions and pain
Blue for feverish conditions and a generally "calming" effect
Red for sluggishness and over-weight conditions
Yellow to boost self-esteem and encourage self-care

This is just a guide... you may find that when you meditate you see what appear
to be "wrong" colours. Don't worry. Your body knows exactly what it needs, so go
with the flow and accept whatever colours appear in your meditation.

Bathe in this coloured light for as long as feels right - then use your intuition
to decide whether you need another colour as well. Continue until you naturally
feel balanced and "complete". Sometimes you may find this happens after the
initial bathe in golden white light, or you may proceed through the entire
spectrum before feeling replenished and ready. Play it by ear every time you do
this meditation.

Whenever you are ready, imagine the hole in the ceiling slowly closing, and the
column of light disappearing with it. Know that this light-energy is available to
you at any time. Slowly and gently return your awareness to the room. Take a deep
breath, stretch slowly and open your eyes.
