Reader's & Readee's Responsibilities

It is our intention, here at Wings of the Soul, to provide a place for everyone to learn, practice, and home their psychic abilities.  We want all who wish to improve their reading skills to feel free to offer use of their gifts to other willing members.  However, with this priviledge comes responsibility both for the reader and the person receiving the messages.   Please take the time to read the following reader / readee ethics guidelines.  Practice them in your readings and learning will be much more fun and valuable.

Reader's Responsibilities

1.  Be honest.   This means not only be honest in what you see but be also honest in your abilities.  Be honest with the readee about your level of skill in the type of reading that you are giving, whether that be tarot, intuative, past life, future, etc.  Tell them how long you've been doing readings of that nature and tell them what you know of your track record.  Be honest.

2.  Be prepared.  Always start your readings by performing the relaxation/quieting of the mind exercises that you need to attune yourself to your higher self.  This will ensure you are able to give the best reading you can.  Be prepared.

3.  Be considerate.  In your honesty, be careful in what you say and how you say it.  Bad news is bound to happen as life is not perfect for anyone.  If you have bad news, be careful to consider how that news will affect the readee.  Sometimes, the straight-forward, blunt way is not the best way.  As an example of bad news, take into consideration the following senario:  A reader sees/feels that there is to be a death in the family of the readee.  What should the reader do?*

In some cases, it is important to come out and say it.  If the death can be prevented with advanced knowledge of the circumstances (such as able to avoid a car accident), then straight-forward may be the best way to convey that message.  But, if the death cannot be avoided, such as from natural causes, then perhaps straight-forward would be too painful for the readee.  In this case consider wording the warning in a similar way to the following statement:  "Make sure you spend all the time you can with [family member] over the next [length of time].  You will be glad you did."  This message does not SAY that the family member will die but instead offers up good sound advice that, should death occur, the readee will be happy they followed.  Be considerate.

Readee's Responsibilities

1.  Be honest.  Tell the whole story not only to the reader but to yourself.  Denial will only lead to misinterpretations, misunderstandings, and inaccurate readings.  Be honest about what kind of help you are looking for (advice, solutions, answers, etc.) and what you intend to do with that help.  Be honest.

2.  Be prepared.  Understand that no one is perfect and that most readers here are "novices."  This means that they are just beginning to understand their abilities and with learning comes mistakes.  Few are 100% accurate all the time.*  Do not just accept any reading as absolute truth.  Take into consideration the reader's track record and their experience.  But above all take into consideration your own feelings and reactions to the information you are provided.  If it "feels" wrong, then it probably is.  Be prepared to question what needs questioning and to make your own decisions about the information given to you.  Be prepared.

*reading energy it is easy to get wires crossed and get the wrong incoming attached to the wrong readee. The information may be valid but for another person.

3.  Be considerate.  Take the time and make the effort to give your reader's feedback on their efforts.  This helps them to grow and become more successful.*  It also is a way of saying thank you for giving me your time and energy.  Be respectful and thankful for what they are giving your.  Be considerate.

*this is called validation. Validation gives the Reader confidence and faith in what they are doing. Tis the best kind of compliment one can have. And preditions, times etc are not set in cement as it all depends on the readee's choices up to that point.

4.  Be responsible.  Reader's should NOT be used to make major decisions in your life.  It is fine to use their input as factors to weigh but the information they give you should be used with responsibility.  Reader's cannot and should not be asked to make decisions for you.  They cannot and should not be used to direct your life path.*  The information should be used only for consideration not law.  You must be responsible for your own actions and your own life.  Never say, "My psychic told me to do it."  Be responsible.  It's your life!
